Garlic Roasted Almonds image

Garlic Roasted Almonds have an amazing flavor and taste better than store-bought nuts! This is how to roast almonds from the comfort of home.

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 cups raw unsalted whole almonds
1 tablespoon avocado oil (*see notes)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt (or kosher salt *see notes)

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Add the almonds to a bowl, then pour the avocado oil over the almonds. Stir until the almonds are all completely coated. Spread the almonds into a single layer on the parchment lined baking sheet. Place the baking sheet onto the center rack of your preheated oven. Roast for 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • While the nuts are roasting, add the seasoned salt and garlic powder to a small bowl and stir to combine.
  • Once the almonds have roasted for 10 minutes, carefully remove from oven. Stir the almonds, sprinkle with the garlic salt mixture, then stir again to coat them with the seasoning.
  • Place the seasoned almonds back into the oven and continue roasting them for an additional 5-7 minutes. Watch them carefully after 5 minutes so they do not burn.
  • Remove the almonds from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking sheet. Do a taste test and sprinkle with additional salt if desired.
  • Serve fresh or store them in an airtight container.

2 cups whole almonds
¼ cup white sugar
½ teaspoon kosher salt
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon almond oil

Steps:

  • Spread almonds in a single layer on a baking sheet and place in a cold oven.
  • Turn oven on to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake almonds, stirring occasionally, until light tan and fragrant, 12 to 15 minutes. The nuts will continue to cook after removing from oven.
  • Meanwhile, mix sugar and salt together in a small bowl; sprinkle about 1 tablespoon sugar mixture into a large bowl.
  • Stir honey, water, and almond oil together in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Add almonds; cook and stir until almonds have absorbed all the liquid, about 5 minutes.
  • Transfer coated almonds to the large bowl sprinkled with sugar mixture. Sprinkle remaining sugar mixture over almonds; toss to coat evenly.
  • Spread almonds onto waxed paper to cool completely. Store at room temperature in a tightly covered container or plastic bag.

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups whole almonds
½ cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon chili powder

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Lightly grease a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan.
  • Combine egg white and vanilla in large bowl; beat until frothy. Add almonds and toss to coat. Pour almonds into a mesh strainer to drain excess liquid, 5 to 10 minutes. Return strained almonds to the bowl.
  • Stir white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, chili powder, and salt together in a bowl. Sprinkle sugar mixture over almonds and toss to coat evenly. Spread coated nuts evenly onto prepared jelly roll pan.
  • Bake, stirring every 20 minutes, until the seasoning clings to the almonds, about 1 hour. Allow to cool completely before storing in an air-tight container.
