Time 10m

Yield 4 1/2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 11

3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup yogurt
1/4 cup olive oil (or any oil available)
1/2 cup powdered milk
2 cups whole milk (or whipping cream)
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup honey
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup kelp (optional)
1/2 cup epsom salts (optional)
essential oil (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine all the ingredients into a container with a tight fitting lid. Shake well before using. Use the mixture up within 2 weeks. Discard if it smells "off". Make sure that the oil used has a clean smell and not have gone rancid.
  • What each ingredient will do: Milk is very nourishing to the skin. Vinegar helps restore the pH balance in the skin. Epsom salts help detox the system. Kelp (or seaweed) is very good for detox, but has a very distinctive smell, so you might want to use caution if using
  • To use: Use approx 1 cup per bath. Essentials oils make a heavenly bath (8 - 10 drops per bath). If you don't have an ingredient, just leave it out. The ingredients are all inter-changeable. Use what you have in the fridge, eg: sour cream, fruit juices, tomato juice -- what ever your fancy!
  • Essential oils can be found in any large supermarkets or health food stores. Scent Options:
  • - equal amounts of Lavender and Orange
  • - equal amounts of Sandalwood and Patchouli.
  • - equal amounts of sandalwood, orange, geranium.

MILK AND HONEY BUBBLE BATH

Milk and Honey Bubble Bath image

I buy a transparant or white liquid soap for this, it shows the honey color when made. You could also use a neutral bubble bath as a base. I now sell this at craft fairs and for the packaging I bought old fashioned glass milk bottles. If you plan to give this as a gift, save up small salad dressing bottles, that is what I used to use. My favorite fragrances for this are: patchouli with orange, jasmin, honey or lavender. The oil is good if you have a dry skin, you can half the amount or leave it out because it will reduce the bubbles, and don't forget to tie your hair up otherwise it gets greasy from the oil!

  • Add the rest of the oil, add the honey, mix well, and then add the liquid soap, mix again.

  • Using a funnel, pour into a bottle.

  • Three Little Ferns DIY Coconut Milk Bath. DIY bath milk recipes often contain dairy. But it doesn’t have to be whole milk. You can use yogurt, buttermilk, coconut milk, goat milk, powdered milk, and even breast milk!
  • Vanilla + Rose + Salt DIY Milk Bath. If you’re using flower petals, buds, infused water, or glitter in your DIY milk bath, you need two things. One, polysorbate or a similar emulsifier.
  • DIY Mint Milk Bath. Emulsifiers break oil into tiny, almost invisible particles. This way, they mix into the water better, won’t for greasy floating blobs, and absorbs into your skin more easily.
  • DIY Coconut Milk Bath. Rose petals, lavender buds, chamomile, and mica make your bath look pretty and smell amazing. But they can clog your pipes. So if you’re adding any of these to your DIY milk bath recipe, use a muslin bag or cloth bag to hold your bath milk.
  • Ms. Health Esteem DIY Coconut Milk Bath. Powdered coconut milk offers a convenient shortcut for DIY milk bath recipes. But here’s a recipe that uses fresh coconut instead.
