Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Place the chicken breasts skin side up on a sheet pan. Rub with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and roast for 35 to 40 minutes, until done. When the chicken is cool enough to handle, discard the skin and bones, and shred the meat. Cover and set aside.
- Meanwhile, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven. Add the onions, celery, and carrots and cook over medium-low heat for 10 minutes, or until the onions start to brown. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the chicken stock, tomatoes with their puree, jalapenos, cumin, coriander, 1 tablespoon salt (depending on the saltiness of the chicken stock), 1 teaspoon pepper, and the cilantro, if using. Cut the tortillas in 1/2, then cut them crosswise into 1/2-inch strips and add to the soup. Bring the soup to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 25 minutes. Add the shredded chicken and season to taste. Serve the soup hot topped with sliced avocado, a dollop of sour cream, grated Cheddar cheese, and broken tortilla chips.

HAMBURGER SOUP AKA HANGOVER SOUP
I attended a potluck where this soup was the main dish, the host went on and on about how good this was, I liked the soup but thought with a few added touches i could personilize this into and amazing soup, so thats what i did. Warning this soup is very good and very hearty and will result in a full satisfied stomach. Very good on a cold winter day when running to the market is not an option.

FRENCH HANGOVER CHICKEN SOUP
From the blog CHOW: This cold-weather soup, featured in cookbook author/Francophile Dorie Greenspan's Around My French Table, is described as Provence's version of America's chicken soup. This simple, subtle garlic concoction is used to cure colds, as well as the more common hangover. Dorie likes to start with three eggs yolks, adding as many as three more. We made it several times and settled on the richer version with the full six. Use the leftover whites for chocolate mousse, another great cure-all.

Steps:
- Halve each garlic clove and remove the germ in the center; discard the germ. Thinly slice the garlic and place in a large saucepan.
- Tie the sage, bay leaves, and thyme together with butcher's twine, or bundle them in a piece of cheesecloth tied closed with twine. Place the herb bundle in the saucepan, along with the water (or water and broth) and the measured salt. Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce the heat to low, and simmer gently for 30 minutes. Discard the herb bundle, keeping the broth at a simmer.
- Place the yolks and cheese in a medium bowl and whisk to combine. Add a few ladlefuls of soup to the cheese mixture and whisk until smooth. While whisking the soup in the saucepan, gradually add the cheese-soup mixture in a steady stream (the yolks will thicken the soup somewhat). Remove the pot from the heat and whisk for 1 minute more (if you keep it over the heat too long, the yolks may curdle). Taste the soup and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve immediately, with a drizzle of olive oil over each portion.

- Bananas. Alcohol blocks the production of a hormone that helps your body hold on to water, leading to dehydration and the loss of electrolytes like potassium and sodium (3, 4).
- Watermelon. Since headache associated with a hangover is usually due to dehydration and decreased blood flow to the brain, eating watermelon may help (6, 7).
- Blueberries. Blueberries are rich in nutrients that fight inflammation in your body, which comes in handy if you have a hangover (9). An older study of 20 men found that blood levels of various inflammatory compounds increased after alcohol consumption (10).
- Oranges. Oranges are rich in vitamin C, which may prevent your body from losing glutathione. Glutathione is an antioxidant that helps rid your body of alcohol and decreases during alcohol consumption (11, 12).
- Pickles. Pickles are high in sodium, an electrolyte that excessive drinking depletes. Eating pickles or drinking their brine may help boost your sodium levels and overcome your hangover.
- Sweet Potatoes. Sweet potatoes contain several nutrients that may help you get over a hangover faster. One cup (200 grams) of cooked sweet potato has over 200% of the DV for vitamin A, 13% for magnesium, and 20% for potassium (17).
- Spinach. Spinach is rich in folate, a nutrient that diminishes due to heavy drinking. A 2002 review of the research found that alcohol impairs folate absorption, and chronic alcohol intake can lead to deficiency (21).
- Avocado. Eating avocados after a night of heavy drinking can help raise low potassium levels from alcohol consumption and dehydration. In fact, one avocado (136 grams) packs 15% of the DV for this mineral (23).
- Asparagus. Asparagus packs certain compounds that may provide hangover relief. According to one test-tube study, asparagus extracts more than doubled the effectiveness of certain enzymes that help break down alcohol, and also protected liver cells from damage (25).
- Meat. Meat and other high-protein foods may help your body better handle a hangover. Research shows that alcohol prevents your body from absorbing certain amino acids.
