1-1/2 cups BAKER'S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut, divided
4 drops each blue and red food coloring
24 yellow cupcakes
2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
24 red string licorice pieces (4 inch)

Steps:

Place 1/2 cup coconut in each of 2 separate resealable plastic bags. Set remaining coconut aside. Add blue food coloring to coconut in one bag and red food coloring to coconut in second bag. Seal bags; shake until coconut is evenly tinted.
Frost cupcakes with COOL WHIP. Top with coconut, gently pressing coconut into COOL WHIP to secure.
Insert licorice into tops of cupcakes.

1 (14 ounce) package baker's angel flake coconut
6 drops blue food coloring
6 drops red food coloring
24 baked cupcakes, cooled, paper liners removed
1 (16 ounce) container Cool Whip Topping, thawed
24 (4 inch) red licorice strings (24 4-inch pieces)

Steps:

Divide coconut into thirds. Set one third aside. Place remaining thirds in separate plastic bags.
Add blue food coloring to coconut in one bag and red food coloring to coconut in second bag.
Close bags; shake until coconut is evenly tinted.
Spread tops and sides of cupcakes with whipped topping.
Place coconut in 3 shallow bowls. One for each color.
Press cupcake gently into coconut, completely coating all sides.
Insert licorice piece into top of each cupcake for "fuse.".

With the mixer on low speed, add in half of the dry ingredients. Pour in the milk. Add in the other half of the dry ingredients and mix them on medium speed until the batter is combined. Use a large spatula to gently stir in the sprinkles.
