- "Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease some cookie sheets. In a mixing bowl, thoroughly cream the shortening, vanilla, and sugars. Add the eggs and beat well. Stir in the peanut butter. Mix together the flour, salt, and baking soda, and add to the peanut butter mixture, combining thoroughly.
- Form into tiny balls with the palm of your hands and place on the cookie sheets. Press each cooking twice with the back of a fork to make a crisscross design. Bake about 8-10 minutes or until firm.".

FANNIE FARMER GRIDDLECAKES
This recipe comes from an old old Fanny Farmer cookbook that I bought at a yard sale. An inscription inside was dated Dec. 25, 1945. These pancakes, or griddlecakes if you will, are the bomb and the only recipe I will use. Do give it a try...if you like a pancake that has lots of body then you won't be dissapointed.

- Mix together the dry ingredients. Add the beaten egg and melted butter and stir vigorously, adding more milk, if necesary, to make the batter just thin enough to pour. Drop by spoonfuls or pour from pitcher onto heated and greased griddle or frying pan using medium heat. When full of bubbles and the underside is browned, turn and brown the other side. Serve with maple syrup and additional butter.

- Beat together butter, peanut butter, and sugar with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Beat in egg, then remaining ingredients until a dough forms.
- Arrange level tablespoons of dough 1 1/2 inches apart on 2 buttered baking sheets, then flatten in a crosshatch pattern to a 2 1/2-inch round with fork tines.
- Bake in middle of oven until slightly puffed, 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on sheets 1 minute, then transfer cookies to a rack.
HONEY ROASTED PEANUT COOKIES
These cookies are chewy, and the glaze is just the right amount of sweet. It's a great peanut butter cookie recipe by itself. The glaze is an extra touch for something original!

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Blend butter, peanut butter, and sugars.
- Add in honey and egg. Mix well.
- Stir in baking soda, then add flour a little at a time.
- Spoon onto cookie sheet, and bake 9-12 minutes until golden.
- While cookies are baking, mix together glaze ingredients with an electric mixer. If glaze is too watery, add a little more powdered sugar (up to 1/4 cup) until it's a good consistency.
- Drizzle over cookies. Top with honey roasted peanuts.
