EASY AND QUICK HAMBURGER AND RICE DINNER

Easy and Quick Hamburger and Rice Dinner image

This is a fast dinner. I usually have all of the ingredients on hand for a last minute supper. You can get creative and doctor this up a bit by adding green pepper or other vegetables.

Ingredients

1 lb hamburger
1 yellow onions, chopped or 1 tablespoon dried onion
2 cups cooked white rice
1 (4 ounce) can chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
salt and pepper
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Steps:

Brown hamburger and onion over medium heat in a large skillet (one with a lid). Drain off excess fat.
Add the rice, tomato, water, salt and pepper. Mix well and cover pan with lid. Simmer on low for 10 minutes.
Check halfway to see if you feel it needs a few tablespoons of water added. Stir and then sprinkle the cheese over top. Don't mix in, allow to melt over top while it finishes simmering.

1 pound ground beef
3 cups water
2 medium carrots, cut into 1/4-inch slices
1 celery rib, chopped
1 envelope onion soup mix
2 cups uncooked instant rice

Steps:

In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in the water, carrots, celery and soup mix. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 8 minutes or until vegetables are tender., Return to a boil. Add rice; cover. Remove from the heat; let stand for 5 minutes or until rice is tender.

1 lb hamburger
1 tablespoon minced dry onion
1 tablespoon minced dried garlic
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 cup rice
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons low-sodium teriyaki sauce
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
2 cups water
3 ounces match stick carrots
1 large red pepper, chopped

Steps:

Brown ground beef with garlic and onion, drain.
add bullion and remaining ingredients except vegetables.
You can substitute beef broth for the water and bullion. Adjust water as needed for they type of rice you're using.
Bring to a boil and let simmer until rice is done, remove from heat.
Add veggies, cover and let sit until vegetables are tender crisp.
