DRUNKEN BERRIES
Beautiful summer dessert using fresh berries and a splash of pear liqueur. Enjoy a la carte or a la mode. Exceptionally lovely on the Fourth of July. Serve berries by themselves or over vanilla gelato, with a small amount of excess liquid - but it should not be a berry soup.

Steps:
- Combine sugar with water in a saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes; remove from heat and let stand 5 more minutes.
- Stir pear liqueur into the syrup and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Gently combine strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries in a large bowl and pour syrup over the berries to coat. Allow berries to stand for about 3 hours to absorb flavors. Mixture can stand up to 3 days if desired.

DRUNKEN CRANBERRIES
Use these drunken cranberries to make Danny Meyer's delicious Cranberry Daiquiri.

Steps:
- In a large saucepan, combine simple syrup, cinnamon, and orange zest. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; add cranberries. Cook until cranberries just begin to pop and skins begin to split, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Strain liquid into a large container. Discard cinnamon and orange zest; add cranberries to liquid, along with rum. If cranberries are not fully submerged in liquid, add equal parts simple syrup and rum until they are completely covered. Let cool completely.
- Cover, and transfer to refrigerator until chilled, at least 2 hours and up to 3 weeks.

Steps:
- Cream the cream cheese with sugar. Add Cointreau or Gran Marnier. Stir until incorporated.
- Stir in about 1-2 cps of left over cranberry sauce, keep 1/2 cup of of cranberries on reserve.
- Pour the mix into a bowl and fold in the whipped topping. fold in the remainder of the cranberry sauce so there will be a few whole cranberries floating around.
- Keep refrigerated. Tart, sweet, delicious!
DRUNKEN CRANBERRY SAUCE
A family recipe we have used for years. We love it as a side dish to our turkey on Thanksgiving day. Also goes well on chicken, pork, and beef. Makes a great treat as an appetizer served with crackers, or can even be used over vanilla ice cream. I like to add the orange zest a couple tablespoons at a time, as not to overdo it. Adjust sweetness by adding 1 tablespoon sugar at a time at the end of cooking if needed.

DRUNKEN CRANBERRY SAUCE
This is my absolute favorite cranberry sauce recipe. I grew up eating the cranberries out of the can (or should I say avoiding them completely because they're pointless), and then I discovered there's more to cranberries than that jellied version of cranbery sauce. Don't stress about the alcohol because it's only for flavor. You won't really get drunk from this recipe unless you're drinking something while you make it.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Combine cranberries, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in an 8" square pan.
- Bake 50 to 60 minutesor until the cranberries have softened and become juicy.
- Uncover and stir in the bourbon.
- The alcohol will evaporate leaving the liquor's smoky essence.
- Refrigerate covered until ready to serve.

- Position knife blade in food processor bowl; add cranberries.
- Cover with lid, and process until coarsely ground.
- Combine cranberries, marshmallows, and sugar in a large bowl; stir gently.
- Cover and chill at least 1 1/2 hours.
- Add apple, grapes, and walnuts; stir gently.
- Fold in whipped cream; cover and chill at least 1 hour.
- Serve on lettuce leaves.
- Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
