HOMEMADE HAMBURGER HELPER
Pasta, ground beef, and a few go-to spices cook together in one pot to create this cheesy, comforting Homemade Hamburger Helper.

Steps:
- In a large Dutch oven, cook the ground beef, bacon and onion over medium heat, stirring, until the ground beef is cooked through, the bacon is rendered and the onion is softened, 12 to 15 minutes. Add the garlic and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the beef broth, tomato sauce, heavy cream, paprika, hot sauce, salt and pepper to the beef mixture. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium. Add the pasta and reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente, about 8 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and gradually stir in the cheeses until fully melted and creamy. Garnish with green onion or parsley, if desired.

- Thouroughly cook the meat in the oil. Set aside to cool.
- Combine all ingredients and serve at room temperature.
- A good doggy multivitamin/mineral supplement may be added for good measure.
- Be sure to store unused portions in a covered container in the refrigerator and discard any leftovers after 3 days.

- Melt the butter in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high. Add the beef, black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of the salt; cook, stirring to crumble, until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Preheat the broiler with the oven rack 3 to 4 inches from the heat. Reduce the stovetop heat to medium, and stir in the macaroni. Add the milk, warm water, mustard, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- Bring to a low simmer; cover, reduce the heat to low, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the macaroni is tender, about 12 minutes. Add the cheeses, and cook, stirring constantly, until the cheeses melt. Stir in the chives. Sprinkle the panko over the macaroni mixture. Broil until the panko is golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes. Garnish with the scallion, and serve immediately.
