  • You may be better able to manage your blood sugar. The artificial sweeteners in diet soda do not raise blood glucose levels in the short term, like sugar does.
  • You may have trouble sleeping. If you opt for diet soda that contains caffeine, you may have trouble getting some much-needed shut-eye at night, especially if you are enjoying it close to bedtime.
