MOTHER'S BANANA BREAD
This is an old recipe that belonged to my mother. I've been making this bread since I was a teenager. At a candy striper bake sale a doctor bought this bread and said that this was the best banana bread that he had tasted.

CHEF JOHN'S BANANA BREAD
Banana bread is one of those things people rarely make on purpose, only when those last three bananas are almost black. This scrumptious banana-walnut loaf, spiked with dark chocolate chips, is so good you'll want to make it well before the bananas get to that condition.

HEALTHY, KID-FRIENDLY BANANA BREAD
Tired of throwing out old bananas? This recipe is a moist, flavorful, and low-fat way to save those bananas and keep your kids coming back for more. No white sugar here. Good old maple syrup, non-fat Greek yogurt, and applesauce make great alternatives to the usual banana bread recipe!

DAUGHTER'S BANANA BREAD
This is my daughter's recipe. She makes the best Banana Bread that I have ever had. It is so moist and it has wonderful banana flavor because she uses bananas that are almost gone by--never uses normal ones. That is why her bread is so good. Also, all her ingredients are at room temperature before she mixes it.

AUNT IDA-MAE PARKER'S DAUGHTER GINA'S BANANA NUT BREAD
Another vintage recipe that my mother in law gave to me. The Parkers were pioneers in Arizona and a lot of these are family hand me down's. Cousin Gina's note at the bottom of the dog eared and stained card is this: (NB - add dry ingredients and banana alternatingly [sic] works better...)

KID-APPROVED BANANA BREAD
This bread is moist and delicious, relatively low in fat, and constantly requested by my four kids for snacks or their school lunches. They even avoid eating all the bananas so there are enough left to ripen to black for banana bread! Freezes well too. Just cool fully and place in an airtight bag or container.

DAUGHTER'S A-TO-Z BREAD
I love my Mom's A-to-Z Bread, but the original recipe was a bit heavy on sugar and oil for my family. My version lowers the sugar and fat but retains all the flavor folks rave about! -Emily Carney, Grand Ledge, Michigan

BABY FOOD BANANA BREAD
Ah, back in the days when I was a new mother, I had to come up with creative ways to use all the extra baby food I had lying around that my young daughter refused to eat. After several attempts, I finally came up with this version.

Steps:
- Mix together sugar and butter in a microwaveable dish and cook on HIGH heat just long enough for it to soften up- maybe 30 seconds, but not to melt it completely.
- Remove and stir to combine.
- Mix together baby food, over-ripe bananas, lime juice, eggs, vanilla, extract, and buttermilk.
- Mix in the butter mixture gradually, so as not to cook the eggs.
- It will look a little curdly from the lime juice- this is normal and will go away upon baking.
- Combine all dry ingredients together in a large bowl, then add the wet mixture and stir with a wooden spoon just enough to combine the ingredients and moisten them- pressing out any big lumps with your spoon (don't overmix).
- Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan (9x5") and bake in a preheated oven at 350 F (180 C) for about an hour or until a toothpick tests clean.
- Let cool completely before serving or it will fall apart.
