2 pounds green peanuts
2 quarts water
1/3 cup kosher salt

Steps:

  • Place peanuts in a colander and wash well under cold running water to remove dirt and debris. Place peanuts in slow cooker and cover with water. Add salt and stir well to combine.
  • Cover and cook on high for 5-6 hours, or until desired tenderness. Check during cooking and add additional water and stir, if necessary.

Steps:

  • Rinse the peanuts in cold water and place them into the crock of the slow cooker.
  • Add the other ingredients and stir to combine. Cover and cook on low for 20 to 24 hours.
  • Discard liquid and store the peanuts in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

1 lb Green Peanuts (Raw Peanuts)
1/4 cup table salt
1 jalapeno or dash of hot sauce
Water to cover

Steps:

  • Dump peanuts, salt, and jalapeno in large crockpot and cover completely with water. Cover, Turn on high, and let the cook. Depending on the crockpot these can take 12 hours to cook. I always check the tenderness to see if they are the right consistency around 10 hours.
  • Occasionally I will let them cook all day, turn them off and let them sit in the brine overnight, then reheat the next day to finish. They turn out amazing!

  • Combine peanuts, salt, and 14 cups water in a tall, oval 6-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on HIGH 18 hours or until peanuts are soft. Drain peanuts before serving or storing. Store in zip-top plastic bags in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.

1 lb raw or green peanuts
water
2 Tbsp cajun seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 c salt (start with 1/4 c. and add more to your taste)

Steps:

  • 1. Put the peanuts in the crock pot and cover with water, enough water so that when you push them down about 2" of water is still above them. Add in the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder and salt. Stir, cover and cook on high for 3 hours, reduce to low and cook for an additional 9-10 hours or until the texture you like them. If you want to freeze them, let them cool then put in a freezer bag. To reheat, place the amount you want to eat, cover with water and boil for 5 minutes.
