Steps:
- Line an 8-by-8-inch baking dish with a sheet of foil large enough to leave a 2-inch overhang on all sides. Grease the foil with 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Melt the remaining 4 tablespoons butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the marshmallows, stirring occasionally until they melt completely, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and a pinch of salt.
- Working quickly, add the rice cereal and candy to the pot and stir with a rubber spatula until evenly coated. Transfer to the prepared baking dish and press into an even, compact layer. (Wet your hands to keep the mixture from sticking.) Let sit at room temperature until firm, about 30 minutes. Cut into 16 squares.
- Store the treats at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Steps:
- Grease and line a 9" x 13" pan with parchment paper.
- Using a double boil method* place marshmallows and coconut oil (or butter) in a large heat proof bowl with water simmering over medium low heat.
- Once melted add Rice Krispies cereal and mix until well blended. Add Mini Eggs and mix again. Add to prepared pan and press down firmly to flatten ( I find spraying the bottom of a 1 cup measuring tool is the easiest way to flatten rice krispies into the pan).
- Allow to set for 60 minutes (or more) and cut into desired sized squares.

CHICK & EGG KRISPIES NEST EASTER TREATS
I make these little treats for my son to take to school. It's a perfect, cute little Easter treat. I serve them in the individual over-sized cupcake papers. You could use plain Rice Krispies and/or omit the chick.....still just as cute. Prep time does not include cooling and setting time.

Steps:
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from the heat, then add the rice cereal and stir until well coated.
- Take small amounts of the mixture and fill both sides of a plastic egg, slightly over-filling one side. If the mixture is too sticky, you can spray your hands with a light cooking spray. Press a chocolate egg in the center on one side of the egg, then close the plastic egg to shape it. (It should be full enough to meet with a little resistance as you close it.) Gently release the rice cereal egg from the mold, decorate with your choice of sprinkles and set aside in an egg crate until set. Repeat with the remaining rice cereal mixture and chocolate eggs.

- Once melted, pour into a bowl. Add food coloring and mix (don’t add too much food coloring! You want your shades to be more on the pastel side).

- Prepare your decorating station: Lay out a large piece of wax paper and prep some extra pats of softened butter to spread on your hands (for shaping the Rice Krispies into Easter egg shapes). Get your sprinkles ready to go too, if you’re using them.
- To make the Rice Krispies, melt the butter in a large sauce pan over medium low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir to coat in the butter. Cook over medium low until the marshmallows are completely melted, stirring occasionally.
- Grease hands with some of the pats of butter and grab handfuls of the Rice Krispies mixture (be careful not to burn yourself if it’s hot). Use your palms to cup the balls and form an oval egg shape. Place the eggs on the wax paper to cool and set up and continue until you’ve used up all the Rice Krispies mixture.
