These extra crispy baked buffalo cauliflower wings are the ultimate veggie dish with a little kick! They are vegan, paleo and whole30 and they are so flavorful and simple to make!

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 large head of cauliflower or 2 small heads
1 cup almond flour
1/4 cup tapioca flour or arrowroot flour
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup non-dairy milk of choice (unsweetened!)
1/2 cup mild or hot buffalo sauce
For serving: scallions or your favorite dressing (I used ranch!)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Wash your cauliflower and break it into small florets.
  • In a medium bowl mix together the flours, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, and salt.
  • Add the non-dairy milk and give it a good mix so there are no clumps remaining
  • Add all of the cauliflower to a very large bowl then pour the mixture eon top of it and mix so each piece is evenly coated (or you can individually dip each piece if you don't have a large bowl
  • Add the cauliflower to baking sheet and spread them apart
  • Bake for 20 minutes in oven then remove
  • Pour your buffalo sauce into a bowl, then dip each cauliflower floret into the buffalo sauce, and space them out on the baking sheet
  • Bake for another 20 minutes or so until golden!

This easy recipe for crispy baked buffalo cauliflower wings is a hit with both vegans and meat eaters.

1/2 large head cauliflower, (cut into florets)
oil spray or oil
1/4 cup flour (or almond meal)
1/4 tsp garlic powder
3 tbsp milk of choice
optional 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup buffalo sauce or hot sauce
1-4 tsp oil or butter spread

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 F. Line a large baking dish with parchment. Spray florets with oil spray or toss with a little oil. Place in either a very large bowl or a large ziploc bag. Toss with the flour and garlic powder until evenly coated. If using the breadcrumbs for added crunch, finely crush them. Add the milk of choice and then the breadcrumbs to the cauliflower, and toss to coat. Arrange in one layer in the baking pan. Bake on the center rack 25 minutes. Combine the oil or melted butter spread with the buffalo sauce (because the fat helps the sauce adhere to the cauliflower). Dip cauliflower in sauce. Bake another 15 minutes. i haven't tried this yet. saving for safekeeping. i don't usually like cauliflower but this seems different enough to be tasty. i'm told this works fine with gluten-free flour and/or soy milk if desired. a cup of hot sauce seems like an awful lot to me. i'll probably start with less. i'd also like to incorporate jack cheese into this somehow but haven't figured it out yet. i'll adjust after i've tried it. i see no reason you couldn't do this with bbq sauce or whatever instead

1 cup 1% low-fat milk
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 head cauliflower (chopped into pieces)
1 cup buffalo wing sauce or 1 cup hot sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil (melted) or 1 tablespoon margarine (melted)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  • Combine the milk, flour, and garlic powder in a bowl and stir until well combined.
  • Coat the cauliflower pieces with the flour mixture and place in a shallow baking dish. Bake for 18 minutes.
  • While the cauliflower is baking, combine your buffalo sauce and olive oil or margarine in a small bowl.
  • Pour the hot sauce mixture over the baked cauliflower and continue baking for an additional 5 to 8 minutes.
  • Serve alongside blue cheese or ranch dressing and celery sticks.
