2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons honey
170 g thinly sliced smoked cooked turkey breast
170 g medium sliced Monterey Jack cheese
170 g thinly sliced cooked ham
1/3 to 1/2 cup red raspberry preserves
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon sesame seed

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Separate or cut dough into 4 long rectangles. Place rectangles crosswise on 1 large or 2 small ungreased baking sheets (rectangles should not touch); firmly press perforations to seal. In small bowl, mix butter and 2 tablespoons honey. Brush over dough.
  • Bake 8 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown; cool 15 minutes.
  • Grease 15x10x1-inch pan. Carefully place 1 crust on pan. Top evenly with turkey. Place second crust over turkey; top with cheese and ham. Place third crust over ham; spread evenly with preserves. Top with fourth crust; brush top with 2 tablespoons honey. Sprinkle honey with sesame seed.
  • Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until crust is deep golden brown and loaf is hot. Let stand 5 minutes. Cut into 8 slices.

1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 1 turn of the pan
1 1/4 pounds ground sirloin
1 cup chicken stock, eyeball it, 1/2 a 14-ounce can or box
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper
4 burger buns, spilt, or kaiser rolls, split
1/2 yellow skinned onion, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Heat a medium skillet over medium high heat. Add oil and meat to the pan and brown the meat, breaking it up with the back of a wooden spoon as it cooks. Add chicken stock to the meat. Season the meat with paprika, Worcestershire, salt and pepper. When the liquid comes to a bubble, reduce heat to simmer. Cook meat 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Pile meat into buns or rolls and top with raw finely chopped onions.

Enjoy these toasted egg and cress club sandwiches as part of a summer family picnic. Skewer each sandwich with a sandwich pick and serve with crisps

2 eggs
2 tbsp mayonnaise
3 slices bread
a little butter
⅓ carton of cress
2-3 slices of tomato or a lettuce leaf and a slice of ham or cheese
crisps , to serve

Steps:

  • Bring a pan of water to the boil and carefully lower in the eggs. Cook for 6 mins, then cool under running water until they can be peeled. Peel the eggs, then leave to cool completely.
  • Mash or chop the eggs, then mix with 1½ tbsp mayonnaise and some seasoning, if you like. Toast the bread.
  • Lay one slice of bread on a board. Butter it, then spread on three quarters of the egg and scatter over the cress. Add another slice of toast and gently spread on the remaining mayo. Add the tomato or lettuce and ham or cheese (or whichever combination you prefer). Dot the remaining egg over the top, spread gently, then top with the final piece of toast. Cut the crusts off if you like, then gently cut the sandwich into four quarters, being careful not to squash out the egg. Skewer each sandwich with a sandwich pick. Serve with crisps.
