(LFRV compliant!) A very yummy treat I like to enjoy which came from Dr. Graham's book The 80/10/10 Diet. This makes a great breakfast, lunch or even dinner :) Pretty much whenever I feel like eating it. Low fat raw vegan & properly combined!! Sometimes I get lazy & just put all of this in the blender to make a smoothie.

Ingredients

3 ripe bananas
3 dates, soaked
3 tablespoons raw carob powder
water

Steps:

Slice up all the bananas and place all but half of one into a bowl.
Put the 1/2 banana, dates, carob powder into a processor or blender and begin to process while adding water. Add just enough water to get it moving and smooth.
Pour this over bananas & enjoy!

1/4 cup brazil nut
1 cup water (spring water)
1 banana (for a colder drink, peel, cut into slices and freeze before use)
1 tablespoon raw honey
2 tablespoons carob powder

Steps:

Blend brazil nuts and water well.
Filter through sieve and pour "milk" back into blender.
Add banana, raw honey and carob powder & blend until smooth.
Enjoy!

1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup milk
10 very ripe bananas
1 1/2 cups chopped apricots
1/3 cup chatfield's carob powder

Steps:

Blend bananas and dairy until creamy. Add apricots and carob and blend again. Chill until almost solid. Remove from freezer and process in ice-cream maker as directed.

I invented this one morning when I was just dying to combine these ingredients... worked very well, I must say. It's best if you give it 1/2 hour or so in the freezer so it gets more like ice cream than a thick drink.

Ingredients

2 medium bananas, frozen
1 cup cold vanilla-flavored soymilk or 1 cup plain soymilk
1 tablespoon carob powder, sifted
4 soft dates (I used Parnoosh dates)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, to taste

Steps:

If dates have been refrigerated, warm them a bit in the microwave, to make softer and easier to blend.
Slice the frozen bananas, this helps out your blender :-).
Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender, and blend till very smooth (you'll have visible flecks of date skin but who cares).
Pour into 2 mugs and let them sit in the freezer for 20-60 minutes.
Enjoy your freezy treat!
