This is a variation of a cake batter puppy chow mix. I like to bring this to gatherings because it is too addictive to keep at home! I like to use Crispix® for the shape, but you can use rice or corn Chex®. Store this in a sealed zipper bag or plastic container.

Ingredients

5 ounces vanilla-flavored candy coating (almond bark), chopped
2 tablespoons shortening
5 cups crispy corn and rice cereal (such as Crispix®)
1 ½ cups white cake mix with colored sprinkles
½ cup confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons colored sprinkles, or more to taste

Steps:

Combine vanilla almond bark and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt in microwave stirring every 30 seconds until mixture is smooth, about 90 seconds total.
Place corn and rice cereal in a large bowl. Slowly pour the almond bark mixture over the cereal, stirring often to completely coat. Add cake mix and confectioners' sugar to cereal mixture; toss to coat. Shake sprinkles over the puppy chow.

Ingredients

4 ounces white chocolate (Wilton's white candy melts)
1 cup funfetti cake mix, divided
6 cups Chex cereal, divided
2/3 cup powdered sugar, divided
2/3 cup rainbow nonpareils, divided
4 ounces pink candy melts
1 1/2 cups frosted circus animal cookies

Steps:

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the white candy melts in a large bowl and melt in the microwave or over a double boiler, stirring until completely smooth.
Stir in 1/2 cup of the cake mix, then add 3 cups cereal and gently stir to evenly coat. Immediately add 1/3 cup powdered sugar, 1/3 cup nonpareils and stir until evenly coated. Pour out onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Place the pink candy melts in a large bowl and melt in the microwave or over a double boiler, stirring until completely smooth.
Stir in 1/2 cup of the cake mix, then add 3 cups cereal and gently stir to evenly coat. Immediately add the remaining 1/3 cup powdered sugar and 1/3 cup nonpareils and stir until evenly coated.
Pour the mixture over the white puppy chow mixture and spread out evenly and top with lightly crushed frosted circus animal cookies.
