1 cup brown sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 shots espresso (or ½ cup strong coffee)
8 ounces milk (any kind)
1 tablespoon cinnamon brown sugar syrup
Ground cinnamon (optional garnish)

Steps:

  • Make the cinnamon brown sugar syrup. Combine the brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, and water in a small saucepan. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring regularly. Then let the syrup cool and remove the cinnamon sticks.
  • Pull two shots of espresso using your favorite espresso maker, or brew ½ cup of strong coffee.
  • Heat your milk on the stove or in the microwave. Then froth it using a whisk or mason jar.
  • Pour the espresso or coffee into your coffee mug. Add the cinnamon brown sugar syrup, and then pour the steamed milk on top. Spoon on milk foam and add a sprinkle of cinnamon as a garnish!

Cinnamon brown sugar syrup: 2 tbsp
Shot of espresso

Steps:

  • Start by steaming your milk. As this is a latte, try to make the milk as fluffy as you can. Only then can you create those distinct coffee and milk layers.
  • Once the milk has steamed or is steaming, make your espresso.
  • Add your cinnamon brown sugar syrup to the bottom of a nice glass or mug.
  • Slowly pour your steamed milk on top of the syrup. By pouring in the milk slowly, you keep most milk bubbles intact.
  • And last but not least, add your shot of espresso to your milk. You pour the coffee in slowly as well. This will help create those amazing layers that we all love.
