This chocolate banana lactation smoothie tastes amazing and has oats, flaxseed and brewer's yeast to help boost your milk supply.

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 frozen banana (chopped into chunks)
1-2 medjool dates
1 Tablespoon brewer's yeast
1 Tablespoon ground flaxseed
1 Tablespoon old fashioned rolled oats
1/2 Tablespoon peanut butter
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
pinch of ground cinnamon
1/4 cup frozen cauliflower rice (optional)

Steps:

  • Add all of the ingredients to the blender in the order they're listed. Start with 1 medjool date. You can add the the second if the smoothie isn't sweet enough.
  • Cover and blend on high until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy.
  • I topped the smoothie with an extra drizzle of peanut butter, banana slices and cacao nibs, but toppings are optional and I only recommend adding them if you plan to eat the smoothie with a spoon.

1/4 cup old fashioned oats
2 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp flax seed ((up to 2 tbsp if you are really looking to boost milk production))
2 tablespoon 100% cacao powder
3/4 cup milk ((use dairy free if needed))
2 cups ice
Toppings (optional: Whipped Cream, powdered chocolate, sliced bananas)

Steps:

  • In a blender, add the oats and give it a quick pulse or two.
  • Add remaining ingredients, except ice, and blend until well combined.
  • Add 2 cups of ice until well blended.
  • Enjoy with a thick straw or a spoon!
  • *Feel free to skip the ice if you just want a smoothie.

1 banana, sliced and frozen
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
1 tablespoon flax seed meal

  • Place all ingredients in a high powered blender or a food processor. Blend on high until smooth (there should be no banana pieces left.).
  • Pour into a glass and enjoy!

It is good with frozen bananas or non-frozen (I think it depends on how cold it is outside as to how much I want to risk brain-freeze.) Or if you want a frozen treat and didn't prepare your bananas ahead, some crushed ice will do too.

1 -2 banana (to taste, depending on size and how much you like bananas)
2 tablespoons peanut butter (we like crunchy, but creamy works too)
1/4 cup powdered instant chocolate drink mix (we use Nestle)
1/4-1/2 cup ice (or as much as you like)
1/2-3/4 cup milk (I use 2%, but any type if fine)

Steps:

  • Put peeled bananas in blender, top with peanut butter, add chocolate drink mix, cover with ice to taste, add milk, then blend till frothy and thick to taste. Pour into glasses and top with whip cream if you like. The kids will love it, but so will the adults! Refreshing and filling!
