- In blender, place milk and syrup. Cover and blend on high speed 2 seconds.
- Add ice cream. Cover and blend on low speed about 5 seconds or until smooth. Pour into glasses. Serve immediately.

- Chill one 16-ounce serving glass (or two 8-ounce serving glasses) in the freezer.
- For the whipped cream: Combine the heavy cream and sugar in a large, deep bowl. Whisk vigorously by hand until soft peaks form, 30 to 60 seconds. Set aside.
- For the milkshake: Blend the milk and malted milk powder in a blender on high speed until the malted milk powder dissolves, 15 to 20 seconds. Add the chocolate ice cream and blend on high until creamy and thick, pushing down as needed, 20 to 25 seconds.
- Pour the milkshake into the chilled glass and top with the whipped cream. Garnish with a maraschino cherry if using and serve immediately.

MUDSLIDE MILKSHAKE
Steps:
- Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend on high until smooth, about 2 to 3 minutes. Pour into glasses and sprinkle with cocoa powder. Drink up baby!!!
- Cook's Note: Chocolate flavored vodka is now being produced by many fine vodka companies. If you can't find it in your liquor store, try butterscotch schnapps. It's less of a mudslide, but every bit as tasty!

VOLCANO MUD SHAKE RECIPE
Here is a recipe that I constantly do with my daughters (Nikky, 10 and Chavela, 7). Nikky wants to be a chef so she constantly helps in the kitchen. She showed interest in the kitchen at early age and now she knows how to prepare and cook her own crispy taquitos, egg salad, French toast, scramble eggs, omelets and she makes her own shakes. She likes Emeril, Rachel and Bobby shows and watches them whenever she has the time!! Sabrina enjoys the flours and the mixing so she is always there to help with the cakes and she also helps to gather all ingredients. I like to have them with me at the kitchen because I am a working single mother and any second with them is precious for me. So we talk a lot while cooking and we help each other. Also, they learn and practice their math, measuring and the best of all, they will learn how to cook. This recipe started one day when I was doing chocolate covered strawberries and I ended with too much left over on the melted chocolate. After the chocolate covered strawberries, I was going to prepare shakes for my daughters so I decided to use the left over of the melted chocolate. Why not?? Now is our favorite shake recipe and we named it the Volcano Mud Shake. Enjoy it!

- Mix the ingredients for the Volcano Mud in a small pot and place them on the stove at low-med heat. Mix constantly with a whisk or folk until all is well mix and the chocolate pieces are melted. The mix will turn dark and it will turn into a smooth paste.
- In a blender mix all ingredients for the vanilla shake and blend until it is smooth. Pour about 4 spoons of the volcano mix into a margarita glass and turn the glass around until all the inside is covered with chocolate. Make sure to cover all glass and also leave a good portion at the bottom of the glass.
- Fill the glass with vanilla shake and serve it with a spoon to eat the chocolate!!

- Put two small tumblers in the fridge to chill overnight. Put 30g of the chocolate in a shallow bowl and melt in the microwave in short bursts. Dip the rim of the chilled glasses in the melted chocolate, then stand them upright so it gradually drips down the sides. Return to the fridge until you're ready to serve.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then pour in the coffee-flavoured liqueur, vodka, Irish cream liqueur and double cream. Shake until the outside of the shaker is very cold.
- Put a few ice cubes in the prepared glasses, then strain in the cocktail. Finely grate over the remaining chocolate and serve with a paper straw.

- Load the back of a teaspoon with a little of the chocolate spread and spread it in a long line from the bottom of the inside of the glass to the top. Put the rest of the chocolate spread into a bowl in the microwave or in a small saucepan over a low heat. Warm through for a few seconds just until runny and set aside.
