2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1 tbsp chia seeds
3 tbsp raw cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cup non-dairy milk
2/3 cup yogurt (coconut or greek)
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup dark mini chocolate chips or chopped dark sugar-free chocolate

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl. Stir thoroughly to combine, then divide into jars or cups.
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours to overnight.
  • Serve chill for a fast breakfast. Enjoy!
  • Keeps well refrigerated for up to 5 days.

Have chocolate for breakfast with these chocolate chip overnight oats. They're easy to prep and pack in a good amount of protein from the Greek yogurt and peanut butter.

1 cup old fashioned rolled oats (not instant)
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 teaspoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of sea salt
2 Tablespoons chocolate chips
1/2 Tablespoon drippy peanut butter (for drizzling)

Steps:

  • Add oats, almond milk, yogurt, maple syrup, chia seeds, vanilla, sea salt and 1 Tablespoon of chocolate chips into a bowl. Stir well to combine. Divide oat mixture into two containers (I like using mason jars), seal with a lid and place in the fridge overnight.
  • Take one container out of the fridge the next morning and stir the mixture.
  • Top with chocolate chips, drizzle peanut butter on top and enjoy!
  • Overnight oats will keep for up to 5 days in the fridge in a sealed container.

Steps:

  • 1. Whisk together all ingredients in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Spoon into a jar with a tight-fitting lid.
  • 2. Close and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, but preferably overnight before eating.

80g porridge oats
4 tbsp natural yogurt or coconut yogurt
2 tsp cocoa powder
2 tsp honey or maple syrup, plus a drizzle
300ml milk of your choice
8 raspberries
weighing scales
small measuring jug

2 jam jars, bowls or small containers for serving

Steps:

  • Before you get started, take a look at our weighing and measuring skills guide. If you have digital scales, place one of the jars, bowls or containers on the scales and reset to zero. Weigh 40g oats into the jar, then repeat with the second jar.
  • Fill a tablespoon measure right to the top with yogurt, add it to one of the jars and repeat in the same jar (so you've added a total of 2 tbsp yogurt). Repeat with the second jar.
  • Fill a teaspoon measure right to the top with cocoa powder and use a cutlery knife to swipe across the top of the spoon, knocking any excess cocoa back into its container. Tip the cocoa into one of the jars, then repeat with the second jar.
  • Rinse the teaspoon measure under warm water to wash off the cocoa powder, then use it to measure a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup. Add this to one of the jars, then repeat with the second jar.
  • Slowly measure 300ml milk into a jug, then pour roughly half of the milk into one jar and the rest into the second - you can estimate this rather than weighing again.
  • Stir each of the jars well until the ingredients are combined and the mixture is chocolatey brown. Top each jar with a drizzle of honey and 4 raspberries, then chill overnight to enjoy for breakfast the next day.
