From Darlene; a no bake cookie from 1967; uses Rice Krispies; this recipe is very easy; a child could make it. Just melt in microwave; add Rice Krispies. You could also substitute almond butter for peanut butter.

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
1/4 cup peanut butter or 1/4 cup almond butter
4 cups Rice Krispies

Steps:

  • Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter together.
  • Add Rice Krispies.
  • Drop by spoonful onto wax paper.
  • Can be made into bars; let stand until firm.

Chocolate and peanuts are two of my favorite treats, and the combination in this recipe, along with butterscotch, gives this candy a special flavor. My mother made these for Christmas every year, but they're so easy to fix, you can enjoy them anytime.

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butterscotch chips
1/2 cup chow mein noodles
1/2 cup salted peanuts

Steps:

  • In a microwave, melt chocolate and butterscotch chips, stir until smooth. Stir in chow mein noodles and peanuts until well coated. , Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a waxed paper-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until set.

12 ounces chocolate chips
12 ounces butterscotch chips
16 ounces Spanish peanuts

Steps:

  • Prepare two baking sheets by lining them with wax paper.
  • Melt the bags of chips in a saucepan over medium heat, adding the Spanish peanuts once the mixture has melted.
  • Stir the peanuts and coat completely.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls onto the wax paper.
  • Refrigerate until solid, at least two hours.

3 cups rolled oats
2/3 cup coconut
2/3 cup chopped walnuts
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 ounces butter
2/3 cup milk
2 cups sugar

Steps:

  • In a large bowl combine oats, coconut, chopped nuts, cocoa, and vanilla. In a saucepan combine butter, milk and sugar and bring to a boil for two minutes. Pour this hot liquid over mixture in large bowl and mix thoroughly. Drop by spoonful onto waxed paper. Let cool before wrapping.

Number Of Ingredients 10

12 oz. bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
15 oz. can fat free sweetened condensed milk
1 cup butter, melted, plus 2 Tbs. butter
2 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2-cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/2-cup flaked coconut

Steps:

  • In a microwavable bowl or double broiler, melt together chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and two tablespoons butter. Set aside.
  • To make dough, in a two-quart saucepan over medium heat combine melted butter and brown sugar. Mix until brown sugar is dissolved and remove from heat. Add to saucepan flour, salt, vanilla, chopped nuts, flaked coconut and eggs. Mix well. Spread half of dough mixture in a 15 x 10-inch jelly roll pan greased with non-stick spray. Drizzle melted chocolate mixture over dough in pan. Dot top of chocolate mixture with remaining dough.
  • Bake at 350 F for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown and set in the middle. Cool well on a wire rack for one or two hours. Cut into 48 bars. Store tightly covered.

2 pounds white candy coating, broken into small pieces
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
4 ounces German sweet chocolate, chopped
1 jar (24 ounces) dry roasted peanuts

Steps:

  • In a 3-qt. slow cooker, combine the candy coating, chocolate chips and German chocolate. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Reduce heat to low; cover and cook 1 hour longer or until melted, stirring every 15 minutes. , Stir in peanuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Let stand until set. Store at room temperature.

  • 1. In 3-quart saucepan, melt chocolate morsels, butterscotch morsels and peanut butter over very low heat, stirring constantly until well-mixed.2. Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until cereal is well coated. Drop by level tablespoon onto waxed paper or baking sheets coated with cooking spray. Let stand in cool place until firm. 3. Mixture may be pressed into 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cut into squares when firm.
