- Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles; place on a greased baking sheet. , Combine the pie filling and almond extract; place a rounded tablespoon i the center of bottom half of triangle. Fold the right point of the wide end of triangle over pie filling to left point; seal bottom seam. Bring top point over the pie filling to left point; seal left seam (filling will show). , Brush with milk; sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400° for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350º F.
- Grease 9-in. x 5-in. x 3-in. loaf pan.
- Drain red cherries, chop and set aside.
- Reserve liquid from red cherries only.
- Add water, if needed, to this liquid to equal 1/3 cup.
- Set liquid aside.
- Drain green cherries, chop and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- In a small bowl, lightly beat eggs.
- Add milk, butter and red cherry liquid to dry ingredients. Mix just until combined.
- Fold in red and green cherries, pecans and orange peel.
- Pour into a greased loaf pan.
- Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until bread tests done.

Steps:
- CRUST.
- Mix ice water and vinegar in a cup.
- Place 1/2 cup of flour in bowl and grandually add water & vinegar mixture; mixing well with a wire whisk.
- In another bowl, combine remaining flour and Splenda; add shortening and mix with pastry cutter or two knives until mixture is crumbly (but still binding together).
- Divide dough in half and gently pat each half into a circle on a floured work surface.
- Cover each circle with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- FILLING.
- Drain the reserved cherry liquid through sieve into a medium saucepan.
- Mix cornstarch and Splenda together in a small bowl and gradually pour into saucepan, stirring well.
- Add almond extract and lemon juice and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Simmer 3-4 minutes to thicken sauce and remove from heat.
- Add 3-4 drops of food coloring (if desired).
- Put cherries in a medium bowl and pour liquid on top, gently folding with spatula or wooden spoon (careful not to crush cherries) then set aside.
- Turn oven on to 375 degrees and spray a 9" pie pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
- Roll out 1 circle of dough on a floured surface to 11" in diameter.
- Place in prepared pie pan.
- Place filling in the crust.
- Roll out the other circle of dough to 10" in diameter and place on top of filling.
- Crimp and seal edges with fingertips or a fork.
- Prick the top of crust to allow steam to escape.
- Brush crust with milk for golden browning.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until filling bubbles and crust is golden.
- Cool for 1 hour before serving.

- Unfold a sheet of puff pastry on to a large piece of parchment paper. Along the long edges of the puff pastry sheet, cut strips about 1/3 of the way in (i.e. about 3 inches long) and 1/2-inch wide. Leaving the puff pastry on the parchment paper, transfer the pastry to a large baking sheet.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture down the center of the pastry being careful to not get cream cheese on the cut strips. Top the cream cheese mixture with chopped cherries, pushing the cherries down slightly.
