This is like lemonade-with a kick!Much more concentrated than other lemonades,and feistier ,this is a great way to ward off a cold .The lemon and cayenne contribute vitamin c ,while the honey soothes sore throats and contributes its own antibacterial properties.This is good warm too.Slightly modified from a health food cookbook.

3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 cup raw honey, unfiltered
1 cup water

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients well.
  • If you are using raw honey ,you may want to heat the water to just under a boil before mixing with the honey,to ensure it all mixes together smoothly.
  • Serve by the shot glass as is or serve 1/2 cup in warmed mugs.

1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Combine drink mix and pepper in large pitcher. Gradually stir in 1 qt. (4 cups) cold water.
  • Pour into 8-inch square freezer-proof dish; place in freezer.
  • Freeze 3 hours or until firm, removing dish from freezer every 30 min. to scrape mixture from sides of dish. Store leftover dessert in freezer.
