Number Of Ingredients 4

Kool-Aid Mix
Water
Gummy Worm Candies
Sugar (optional)

Steps:

  • Place your Kool-Aid Mix into a bottle of water or large pitcher. (Use less mix if adding to a water bottle versus a pitcher of water) Add sugar to taste. You can definitely skip this step but it does help it taste a little better. Stir well and add in some gummy worms. You can even garnish the cup with a gummy worm. Serve and Enjoy!

IT'S BAAACK! Cold & Flu Season that is! And everyone where I live is coming down with some variation of this disease and bemoaning the fact that they have to take chemically-laden cold remedies to survive. Well, NOT any more. BUG JUICE to the rescue! I don't like putting chemicals into my body when I already feel bad, so I've been researching a more natural approach for years, and here's what I've developed. Now this is NOT "medical advice:" if you feel really poorly - get thee to a doctor for treatment right away. But if you feel kinda like you're coming down with something, try BUG JUICE!

1/4 cup(s) honey (raw, organic or natural is best, but regular works)
2 teaspoon(s) apple cider vinegar
1/8 teaspoon(s) cinnamon, ground
1/8 teaspoon(s) ginger, powdered
1/8 teaspoon(s) cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon(s) turmeric, ground
1/8 teaspoon(s) black pepper (freshly ground is best, but regular works)

Steps:

  • Honey is a natural anti-bacterial agent that NEVER spoils! Seriously, folks - you could keep it in your pantry for 10 years or more and it might granulate on you, but it would never mold, mildew or rot. And if it does granulate, just heat the jar gently on your stove in a pot of water - don't boil! - and it will turn right back into honey! Apple cider vinegar is a natural antiseptic and disinfectant that will clean out and keep little nasties from growing in your innards! Cinnamon, ginger and cayenne are natural anti-inflammatories, and will reduce fever, help with headaches and the chills, aches and pains of colds and flus. And when you combine turmeric and black pepper, you create a powerful antioxidant that gives your body a boost at the cellular level and helps it fight free radical damage, which helps it heal. All this from a little natural potion that doesn't taste anywhere near as bad as some of that stuff you get over the counter! Yuck! And if you make some and decide you really don't like it, you can always use it as a marinade! LOL!
  • Here's how you make it: take a small bowl and put in all your spices. Smoosh them up really good to get out all the lumps - powdered ginger tends to clump up a bit. Mix them up well. Then add the vinegar and mix until the spices have been absorbed into the vinegar. Now it is time to add the honey. This is where things get just a little tricky! Mix together well until you have an even consistency - this is the hard part, as the honey and vinegar don't want to mix together nicely. You'll see what I mean when you try this - you'll have a thin part and a thick part for quite a while. Just keep stirring - you'll get there! Suddenly, it will all become uniform - and it's done! YAY!
  • Now put it in an air-tight container. You can refrigerate it, but you don't have to. You can just keep it out on your counter. Take 1 tsp to 1 Tbsp (depending on how sick you are feeling at the time) every four hours until you are over it. Hope y'all feel better! ;) Makes Appx 4 oz as stated (enough for 1 mild cold!) This recipe is easy to double or triple, too!
  • CAUTION: you might break out into a sweat when you first take this - that just means it is working and you might have had a touch of fever! It helps to have a little glass of water handy if you're not used to cayenne pepper, too! This will help with coughs, colds, sinus problems, runny & stuffed up noses, fever, headaches, chills, aches and pains, and just plain feeling miserable. It works immediately, but it is sneaky - you might not even notice until you just suddenly say, "Hey, I've stopped that annoying coughing," or "Gee, I'm feeling better." Give it a try and let me know what you think. I've been sharing it with my friends all over the world this year and getting some very positive feedback. This is a very simple and easy solution to keeping your fruit bug-free. It is an old concoction from my MIL that has done wonders for our apple trees!

3/4 cup water
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup sugar
2 banana peel

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in an empty gallon-sized jug with the top cut off.
  • Hang one solution in each of your fruit bearing trees - works at its best if you begin the treatments before the trees blossom.
  • Continue to use the treatment until the end of the fruit bearing season, replacing as often as neccesary.
  • (rain water will dilute the solution, and lots of bug will too - check it every few days).

  • Fruit Flies. You may be winning the battle against the fruit flies lingering around your fruit bowl, but it turns out you're losing the war. Though we can swat and swipe away the fruit flies in our homes, we're sipping on them in our citrus juice.
  • Thrips. These tiny, winged insects love asparagus almost as much as you do, or did. As long as frozen or canned versions don't pack in more than 40 thrips per 100 grams, you're allowed to tote it home for dinner.
  • Caterpillars. It doesn't matter if they turn into something beautiful, caterpillars aren't something you want in your food. You wouldn't know that by looking at the list of legal limits on bugs in frozen and canned spinach, though.
  • Aphids. Before you reach for that beer to help you cope with all this news, there's one more thing you should know: hops contain an average of more than 2,500 aphids per 10 grams in addition to the thrips.
