1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup baking cocoa
3/4 cup cold butter
14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
1 cup coarsely chopped toasted pecans
1/2 cup coconut
1/3 cup English toffee bits

Steps:

  • In a food processor combine the flour, sugar and cocoa. Add the butter and process just until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press firmly into a greased 13' by 9' baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. While crust is baking, combine condensed milk,vanilla and 1 cup of chocolate chips in a medium saucepan. Heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth. Remove crust from oven and pour chocolate mixture over crust. Sprinkle with coconut, nuts and toffee bits and remaining chocolate chips. Press down firmly. Return to oven and bake for another 18-20 minutes.

1 1/3 c all-purpose flour

1/3 c baking cocoa
3/4 c butter
1 can(s) sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp pure vanilla extract; i use either mexican or madagascar boubon
2 c pure semi-sweet chocolate chips or pieces, divided
1 c pecans, chopped and toasted
1/2 c flaked coconut
1/3 c english toffee bits

Steps:

  • 1. In a food processor, combine flour, sugar and cocoa. Add butter, and continue until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press firmly into a greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • 2. While crust is baking, combine milk, vanilla and 1 cup of chocolate chips in a medium saucepan. Heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth.
  • 3. Remove crust from the oven, and pour chocolate mixture over the crust. Sprinkle with nuts, coconut, toffee bits and remaining chocolate chips. Press down firmly, and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes.

1 cup almond butter
1/2 cup agave nectar
1 large egg, room temperature
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 package (10 ounces) dairy-free semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts, lightly toasted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°. Line an 8-in. square baking pan with parchment, letting ends extend up sides; set aside. In a large bowl, beat the first 5 ingredients until blended. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts. Spread into prepared pan., Bake until edges begin to brown and a toothpick inserted in center comes out with moist crumbs (do not overbake), 30-35 minutes. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack, at least 2 hours. Lifting with parchment, remove brownies from pan. Cut into bars. Store in an airtight container.

They are more like candy than true brownies, and they disappear at our house faster than I can make them. I have heard they keep well, but they never seem to last long enough for me to find out!
