An appetizer so elegant, no one will believe it's homemade! With just a handful of everyday ingredients, these Crab Puffs are sure to win everyone over.

8 ounces crab meat*
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
1 clove garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon fresh chopped parsley, plus more for optional garnish
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
¼ teaspoon fresh black pepper
1 can crescent dough sheet

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a mini muffin tin all over, even the top, set aside.
  • Place the crab, mayonnaise, dijon, garlic, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper in a medium-sized bowl. Gently mixed together until combined, set aside.
  • Unroll the dough onto a clean work surface and cut as evenly as you can into 24 equal square pieces. Press each piece into a section of the mini muffin tin, pressing down to form into the tin.
  • Fill the cups with the crab mixture evenly. Bake for 11-13 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool for a couple minutes in the tin, then transfer to a wire rack to cool until ready to eat.
  • Garnish with more chopped parsley if desired.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 cup plus 1 tablespoon water
1/2 cup butter
1 tablespoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1 can (6 ounces) crabmeat, drained, flaked and cartilage removed

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, bring the water, butter, mustard, salt, cumin and hot pepper sauce to a boil. Add flour all at once and stir until a smooth ball forms. Remove from the heat; let stand for 5 minutes., Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Continue beating until smooth and shiny. Stir in the cheese and crab., Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 400° for 23-26 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks. Serve warm.

1 quart oil for deep frying
1 pound cooked crabmeat
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 teaspoons garlic salt
2 (16 ounce) packages small won ton wrappers

Steps:

  • Heat oil in large, heavy saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix together cooked crabmeat, cream cheese and garlic salt.
  • Roll a small amount of the crabmeat mixture inside each won ton wrapper and seal.
  • In small batches, carefully place won tons into the hot oil. Fry 2 to 3 minutes, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

1 cup water
½ cup salted butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs, beaten
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
¼ cup sour cream
¼ cup finely chopped celery
2 tablespoons minced onion
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 dash soy sauce
1 (12 ounce) package imitation crabmeat

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Combine water and butter in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and add flour; stir to form a ball. Remove from the heat and add eggs all at once; stir until smooth.
  • Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until puffs are a nice golden brown and hollow sounding, 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  • Meanwhile, mix cream cheese, sour cream, celery, onion, garlic powder, and soy sauce until smooth. Mix in crab.
  • Fill cooled puff pastries with crab mixture.

6 English muffins, split
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 large egg yolks
1 green onion, finely chopped
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground mustard
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Dash hot pepper sauce
1 cup lump crabmeat, drained

Steps:

  • Brush muffins with butter. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Broil 3 in. from the heat for 3-5 minutes or until toasted., In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise, egg yolks, onion and seasonings. Fold in crab. Spread 3 tablespoons crab mixture over each muffin half. , Broil for 2-3 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Freeze option: Cover and freeze uncooked crab-topped muffins in a single layer for up to 2 months. Place frozen muffins on an ungreased baking sheet. 1 cup water
1/2 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 eggs
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dill weed
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 lb flaked crabmeat or 1 lb imitation crabmeat, if you can't get fresh- shredded

Steps:

  • In a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat, bring water, butter and salt to a boil Add flour all at once, stir until a smooth ball forms.
  • Remove from heat let stand 5 minutes.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Beat until smooth and shiny.
  • Drop by tablespoonfuls 3 inchs apart on greased baking sheets.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove to wire racks.
  • Immediately split puffs open, remove and discard soft dough from inside.
  • For Filling, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream onion, salt, dill, lemon juice and pepper in a bowl.
  • Fold in the crab.
  • Fill bottom halves of puffs, replace tops.
  • Serve immediately.
