THE "DDD" BURGER
Steps:
- Preheat deep-fryer to 350 degrees F.
- Place frying pan or flat top grill over medium-high setting.
- Grab a medium size mixing bowl, and a whisk. Add 2 cups of cold water in mixing bowl and empty the contents of the batter mix in with water and mix together until batter is of pancake batter consistency.
- Take the ground chuck and shape it into 4 (1/3-pound) patties. Then grill on flat top or pan fry to your desired internal temperature. When burger is cooked remove the patties from pan or grill and set aside.
- Take hamburger buns and open them up and set them on the counter so that the insides are facing up. Place 1 piece of cheese on top of each side of all hamburger buns facing up. Spinkle diced onions on all bottom pieces. Then place 1 slice of tomato on the cheese on the top buns. Then put 4 slices of hamburger pickles on top of each tomato slice. Gently put the cooked hamburger patty on top of either of the buns and smash both the top and bottom buns together. The tighter the better!
- Take the hamburger and insert into the mixing bowl with batter and surround burger with batter.
- Place evenly coated burger bun with ingredients and burger patty into fryer. Remove burgers when outside coating of batter is a golden brown color. Serve with desired side item.
MY HUSBAND'S FAVORITE BAKED BURGERS
Simple, flavorful hamburger recipe that my husband loves. Ketchup is the binder so no egg is required. They hold together very well. I bake them in the oven and they come out perfect every time! I serve these with a slice of cheese melted on top. Top as desired.

OVEN-BAKED BURGERS
A crispy coating mix is the secret ingredient that dresses up these baked hamburgers. You bake them in the oven instead of grilling or frying. I like to use a sweet and spicy steak sauce for the best flavor. -Mike Goldman, Arden Hills, Minnesota

COUNTRY FRIED HAMBURGER STEAKS WITH GRAVY
If you can "Country Fry" chicken, pork , and beef cube steaks, why not ground beef patties ? Well, with this recipe you can.:) When handling the "steaks" please take care when turning over in the egg/milk mixture, because they might crumble. And the same goes for turning over in the seasoned flour. For easier handling of the "steaks" you may want to freeze them for about 1/2 an hour or until they are slightly firm.If desired please adjust seasonings according to your tastes. For a true comfort meal serve with your favorite mashed potato and green bean recipes.Submitted to "ZARR" on November 21st,2008

CHEESY, STUFFED PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM BURGERS
Mushrooms are wonderful and, these days, they are getting called upon to play so many different parts. One of the most popular things is to use mushrooms as a substitute for meat. It works well because they have such wonderful texture and heartiness. The portobello is the top dog of the cultivated mushroom world because it's large and can be a meal unto itself. They are cultivated mushrooms (as opposed to wild, foraged kinds) and are earthy and meaty. Regarding mushrooms in general: Wash them just before cooking (if they are dirty) so they are clean but don't sit around, waterlogged, in your fridge. Many people scrape the brown "ribs" out of the insides of the portobello and peel the outer skin. Why? I say leave everything on the mushroom (except dirt). Make sure you cook mushrooms long enough-they take longer than you think to reach full flavor.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line 2 rimmed baking sheets with parchment and set aside.
- Roast the mushrooms: Arrange the mushrooms, stem side up, onions and garlic cloves in a single layer on 1 prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with half of the olive oil. Drizzle 1/2 cup water around the mushrooms on the baking sheet. Season generously with salt and pepper. Roast in the center of the oven until the mushrooms shrink in size and become darker brown, 15 to 18 minutes. Remove and let cool.
- Bread the mushrooms: In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs with a splash of water. In another medium bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with the granulated garlic. Dip each mushroom in the egg mixture and then coat completely with the breadcrumbs. Reserve everything.
- Fry the mushrooms: In a large skillet, heat the remaining olive oil over medium heat until it begins to smoke. Add the mushrooms in a single layer. Cook on one side until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Flip and cook on the second side until golden brown, another 2 to 3 minutes. Remove the mushrooms from the oil and arrange in a single layer on a clean baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper.
- Make the filling: In a medium bowl, combine the roasted garlic cloves and onion slices with the cheese. Add any remaining egg and 1/4 cup of the breadcrumbs leftover from the breading. Add the basil and mix well.
- Assemble and bake: On the same baking sheet, place 2 portobellos, stem-side up, with some distance between them. Pile half of the filling on each and then top with the remaining mushrooms, pressing gently but firmly down, so it forms a fairly compact sandwich. Bake until the cheese melts, 6 to 8 minutes.
- Arrange the lettuce to form 2 cups. Drizzle some pickle juice and red wine vinegar into the cups. Season with salt and pepper and then top with some sliced pickles.
- Place each mushroom burger onto a bottom bun. Flip a lettuce cup onto each burger and top with the top bun. Serve.
DELICIOUS BREADED CHICKEN BURGERS
I was on a quest to make chicken burgers using ground chicken. I found this recipe, and made a few minor revisions. I think they turned out perfect and the family loved them. Source: "How to Make Delicious Breaded Chicken Burgers" http://www.theartofdoingstuff.com/how-to-make-delicious-breaded-chicken-burgers/ I made 5 large chicken burgers and they did not shrink upon cooking.

Steps:
- In a bowl: Add ground chicken, egg, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder together. Add in bread crumbs, milk, gently combine with hands. Set aside.
- In 3 shallow bowls: Bowl 1: beaten egg with water. Bowl 2: seasoned flour with salt & pepper, Bowl 3: seasoned bread crumbs.
- Using 1/3 cup measuring cup as a measuring tool, scoop out your burger portions.
- HINT: I found it was less messy to drop the scoop of meat into the flour, turn it over, lift it out of the flour, then form into patty.
- Coat both sides of chicken patty with flour, dip in egg wash, then pat into the breadcrumbs to coat.
- At this point I placed patties on a platter, covered with plastic wrap and put them in the fridge for 1-2 hours. This step is not necessary but can be done ahead of time. It will allow the flavors to develop.
- Panfry in (4 Tablespoons) cooking oil for about 4 minutes on each side. *add a little oil at a time, add more when you flip the chicken if necessary. Add more cooking time if your burgers are plump. Do not over cook or they will dry out.
- Serving suggestions: on soft buns with sliced dill pickles, mayonaise, honey mustard or spicy , tomato slices and lettuce or whatever you like.

BAKED HAMBURGERS
This baked hamburgers recipe is hearty and moist. The onion gives it a special flavor, and the sweet-flavored sauce further enhances the taste. I serve these as an entree with accompanying vegetables or on a bun as a sandwich. -Marg Bisgrove, Widewater, Alberta
