"SOFT AS WONDER" WHITE BREAD

This is my standard loaf of white bread, good for anything. Very soft. I mix it in the bread machine then bake it in the oven. As with all my bread, I let it cool and then slice the whole loaf and put in a freezer bag and freeze and then I can take whatever I need out and have fresh bread. This does not include machine and rising time.

Time 30m

Yield 12-14 slices, 12 serving(s)

1 tablespoon honey
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup powdered milk (not skim)

Steps:

  • Add ingredients in order given (this is for my machine, your's maybe different).

  • Cool on wire rack before slicing.

BREAD LIKE STORE BOUGHT

Bread Like Store Bought image

My husband is allergic to soy and corn, so, I've had to make bread for the last six years. I needed a bread that cut up from the bread machine with the right consistency to make a sandwich to send him to work. Hope you enjoy!

Time 10m

Yield 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup very hot water
1/4 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons yeast
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups flour (I use better for bread flour)
1/2 cup potato flakes or 1/2 cup mashed potatoes

Steps:

  • Add ingredients to you bread machine as indicated by it's brand. For mine it's liquids then solids. And bake on the express setting. The longer bread settings will make the bread fall. A short setting makes it's perfect sandwich size.

THE BEST-TASTING STORE-BOUGHT BREAD — EAT THIS NOT THAT

From eatthis.com
  • Arnold 12 Grain Bread. Arnold 12 Grain Bread takes the cake when it comes to the best store-bought bread in my book. It has a store-bought look with a homemade taste with its premium ingredients like oats, barley, sunflower, seeds, and brown rice.
  • King's Hawaiian Original Sweet Sliced Bread. This might be controversial because bread isn't supposed to be sweet, but trust me with this is one. Think of a sweet roll mixed with white bread.
  • Rudi's Seeded Multigrain Bread. When I tell you that I absolutely love Rudi's bread, I mean it. It has all of the characteristics that I think good bread should have: firm construction, solid flavor, and a soft bite.
  • Sara Lee Artesano Bread. This isn't your typical store-bought bread, but definitely more on the artisanal end of the spectrum. While I was looking for bread with a firm, hearty texture, this one was the exception for me.
  • Udi's Gluten-Free Heart 7 Seeds & Grains Artisan Bread. While I'm not gluten-free, I'm always open to trying gluten-free options because a majority of the time they can be just as good or even better than their counterparts.
  • Nature's Own Whole Wheat Bread. Nature's Own Whole Wheat Bread isn't much better or different from the Wonder mentioned above. The slices are abnormally small and thin which probably explains the whopping 60 calories per slice.
  • Wonder Classic White Bread. There are some meals where white bread will always hit the spot whether that's toast in the morning or a classic PB&J at lunchtime.
