1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon steak sauce
4 uncooked bratwurst links
4 brat buns, split

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix mustard, honey, mayonnaise and steak sauce., Grill bratwurst, covered, over medium heat 15-20 minutes or until a thermometer reads 160°, turning occasionally; brush frequently with mustard mixture during the last 5 minutes. Serve on buns.

4 fresh bratwursts (1 lb)
1 (12 ounce) bottle beer
1 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 lb fresh sauerkraut, rinsed, fully drained
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
4 flour tortillas (10-inch diameter)
1/4 cup honey dijon mustard
4 slices smoked swiss cheese

Steps:

  • Place bratwurst and beer in medium saucepan; bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat; let bratwurst cool in beer.
  • In 10-inch frying pan cook onion in oil over medium heat until browned, 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Add sauerkraut, sugar, salt, and red pepper; mix well.
  • Continue cooking for 5 minutes to blend flavors.
  • Place bratwurst in center of cooking grate.
  • Grill 5 to 6 minutes or until browned and heated throughout, turning once halfway through grilling time.
  • Split each in half lengthwise.
  • Place 1/4 of sauerkraut mixture down center of each tortilla.
  • Place 2 bratwurst halves on top of filling.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon mustard on bratwurst and top with a slice of cheese.
  • Fold two sides of tortilla over cheese; fold remaining bottom and top halves of tortilla to close.
  • Place tortilla wraps flap-side down on grill; grill 3 to 4 minutes or until browned and heated through, turning once halfway through grilling time.

Yum.....easy, fast and delicious comfort food. These are a regular item on our menu that take very little effort for a great reward ! I came home dog tired tonight and the last thing on my mind was dinner, but had these on the table in 30 minutes! Not bad for a Monday night dinner !

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 lb pierogi, frozen (potato and bacon, cheese and bacon, etc.)
3 slices bacon
1 onion, chopped
4 sausages, spicy
sour cream

Steps:

  • Heat a large pan of water to boiling.
  • When the water boils, add the pierogies.
  • Cook the frozen pierogies for approximately 10 - 15 minutes. They will float to the top when ready.
  • Drain and set aside.
  • While the water is heating, cook 3 slices of bacon until crisp.
  • Drain on a paper towel then cut up finely.
  • Reserve the oil from the bacon.
  • Fry the sausages in the oil until done - about 10 - 15 minutes on medium heat.
  • Remove the sausages and set aside but keep warm.
  • Add the pierogies to the oil and fry for approximately 10 minutes. Add the onion and bacon 1/2 way through.
  • Turn the pierogies frequently, they should start to get a bit crisp from the oil.
  • Serve pierogies and sausages with bits of fried onion, bacon and top with sour cream.
  • Yum !

10 fresh bratwursts
1 green bell pepper, sliced into long strips
1 red bell pepper, sliced into long strips
1 large sweet onion, sliced into rings and separated
2 garlic cloves, sliced
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
2 cups honey mustard barbecue sauce
1 (12 fluid ounce) beer
10 hoagie rolls, split lengthwise

Steps:

  • Place half of the bratwurst in the bottom of a 5 quart slow cooker.
  • Arrange half of the green pepper, red pepper, and onion over them. Layer the remaining bratwurst over the top, and top with the remaining red and green bell peppers and onion. Throw in the garlic and bay leaves.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together HALF of the honey mustard sauce, liquid smoke and beer.
  • Pour into the slow cooker. Add more beer if necessary to cover everything in the pot. Cover, and cook on Low for 4 to 5 hours.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil grate.
  • Remove bratwurst from the slow cooker, but leave onions and peppers inside. Place bratwurst on the grill and baste with some of the remaining honey mustard sauce. Turn occasionally until slightly charred.
  • Place bratwurst on rolls, and use tongs to pull out a few of the onions and peppers from the slow cooker and drape them over the sausage.
