Categories     < 15 Mins

Time 10m

Yield 4 cups

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons boric acid
3 cups warm water

Steps:

  • Mix the sugar and Boric Acic well.
  • Add the warm water slowly, mixing all the while so it won't be too lumpy.
  • Store in a jar.
  • When ready to use, put cotton into the top of a jar lid to fill it, and then saturate the cotton to the top.
  • Place where you want it; make several if you need it.
  • Will keep for a long while.
  • NOTE: I usually drip a drop or two over the edge of the lid to rest on the counter so they will find it sooner.
  • It sometimes takes a little while for them to find it, but find it they will.
  • When they do, let them alone; you will want to kill them because they look so creepy; but don't because they will hang over the edge of the lid and drink, drink, drink, and then take it back to the nest.
  • Almost over night, they will be gone.

  • White Vinegar. White vinegar, widely accessible in supermarkets, is a low-cost and efficient approach to get rid of ants. It also acts as a natural cleaner.
  • Peppermint. To get rid of insects, plant mint around the perimeter of your property. Peppermint or peppermint essential oil is a natural repellent that may help repel fire ants and insects like mosquitoes.
  • Cinnamon. Cinnamon is an excellent ant-killing agent. Cinnamon is natural and non-toxic, and it kills ants and acts as a repellent due to its powerful scent.
  • Lemon Juice. Lemon juice, like vinegar, seems to damage the smell trails that ants follow. You may use lemon juice to kill ants by eliminating pheromone trails and concealing the smell of food.
  • Black Pepper or Cayenne Pepper. The smell of cayenne pepper deters ants. Black pepper will do the job just as well. Ants dislike black or red (cayenne) pepper fragrance; thus, it is a natural deterrent.
