1/2 to 3/4 cup crushed ice
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce light rum
1/2 ounce Triple Sec
2 ounces unsweetened pineapple juice
2 ounces orange juice
Lime slice and pitted sweet dark cherry

Steps:

  • Place desired amount of ice in a rocks glass. Pour vodka, rum, Triple Sec and juices into glass. Stir; serve with a lime slice and cherry.

The Black Eyed Susan Cocktail is the official drink of the Preakness, and is one of my favorite drinks even when horse racing isn't going on!

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 1/2 ounces of vodka
1 ounce of bourbon
2 ounces of orange juice
2 ounces of sweet and sour mix (try THIS Homemade Sweet and Sour Mix )
1 cherry and an orange slice for garnish

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients to a tall glass. Fill with ice and stir well. Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice.

1 cup fresh pineapple juice
1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice, plus 1/2 orange, thinly sliced
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, plus 1 small lemon, thinly sliced
1/4 cup white rum
1/4 cup rye whiskey
1 tablespoon orange liqueur
Simple Syrup, recipe follows
About 2 cups sparkling water
About 3/4 cup black rum
1/2 cup sugar

Steps:

  • In a pitcher, stir together the pineapple, orange and lemon juices, white rum, rye whiskey, orange liqueur and Simple Syrup to taste. Add the orange and lemon slices, then cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour and up to 8 hours.
  • Divide among 6 Collins glasses filled with ice. Top off with a splash of sparkling water and a few teaspoons of the black rum. Serve immediately.
  • Combine the sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook until the sugar is melted, about 3 minutes. Remove from the heat, let cool to room temperature, then cover and chill until cold.
