Bisquick Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie image

This is my delicious and easy to make Bisquick Cheeseburger Pie recipe.

1lb lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup Bisquick
1 cup milk
2 eggs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Brown ground beef and onion together until meat is cooked. Mix in salt. Spread in bottom of glass baking pan. Sprinkle cheese on top.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together Bisquick, milk and eggs (mixture is supposed to be runny). Pour mixture over meat and cheese.
  • Bake in oven 25 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
  • Makes 6 servings.

You'll never want a regular, cheese-on-top burger again once you taste these gooey, surprised-filled patties.

1 1/4 lb ground beef sirloin
1/2 teaspoon chipotle chile pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon coarse sea salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (2 oz)
4 whole-grain hamburger buns, split
4 leaves red leaf lettuce
4 slices tomato

Steps:

  • Heat gas or charcoal grill. In medium bowl, mix beef, chile pepper powder, salt and pepper. Shape mixture into 8 patties, 1/2 inch thick. In center of each of 4 patties, place 2 tablespoons cheese. Top with remaining patties; press edges to seal.
  • Place patties on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 13 to 15 minutes, turning once, until thermometer inserted in center of patties (inserted in meat, not cheese) reads 160°F. Serve burgers on buns with lettuce and tomato.

EASY HAMBURGER BUNS



Easy Hamburger Buns image

This recipe came with King Arthur's hamburger bun pan I purchased. Not as super soft as store bought buns, but I like these much better. I use my automatic bread machine (ABM) to make these using the dough cyle for kneading and forming them separately. If you are using the ABM, you can add all ingredients in the machine while it heats up except the milk/butter mixture. When it starts to knead, add the milk/butter mixture in and let the machine complete the dough cycle and proceed with step 3.

1 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter, soft
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons yeast
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes (optional)
1 egg white, beaten
1 tablespoon water
sesame seeds, for sprinkling

Steps:

  • Warm the milk and butter together just until the butter starts to melt.
  • Place all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl. (I use my bread maker dough cycle here). Stir to combine, then knead the dough until it's smooth and elastic, about 10-15 minute. Add a bit of additional flour or water if needed.
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, turning to coat all sides. Cover it with lightly greased plastic wrap, and let the dough rise until it's doubled in bulk.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lighly floured work surface and divide it into six pieces. Roll each piece into a smooth ball and place it in the lightly greased pan.
  • Cover the pan let the buns rest for 10 min, then press each to flatten the top. Cover and let it rise until puffy, about 1 hour.
  • Mix beaten egg white with 1 T water.
  • Just before baking, brush with the egg white water mixture and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the buns in a preheated 375 F degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and let cool on a rack before slicing in half horizontally.

1 red onion, chopped
1 cup monterey jack cheese, shredded
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 1/2 cups milk
3 eggs
3/4 cup Bisquick
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Spray large pie pan with Pam.
  • Layer fried and crumbled bacon, spinach, red onion and cheeses. (You may also substitute with the Mexican blend of shredded cheese).
  • If making ahead, cover and refrigerate.
  • When ready to bake: prepare liquid mixture in a separate bowl by beating milk, eggs, Bisquick and pepper just until mixed well.
  • Pour liquid mixture over layered ingredients.
  • Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, uncovered, for approx 45 to 60 minutes. If getting too brown, cover with foil until done.
  • Cool about 10 minutes before cutting (pie style).

1 cup milk
1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 ½ teaspoons salt
5 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 (.25 ounce) envelope active dry yeast
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon water

Steps:

  • Combine the milk, 1 cup of water, butter, sugar and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil then remove from the heat and let stand until lukewarm. If the mixture is too hot, it will kill the yeast.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the flour and yeast. Pour in wet ingredients and stir until the dough starts to pull together. If you have a stand mixer, use the dough hook to mix for about 8 minutes. If not, knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let stand until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  • Punch down the dough and divide into 12 portions They should be a little larger than a golf ball. Make tight balls out of the dough by pulling the dough tightly around and pinching it at the bottom. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. After the rolls sit for a minute and relax, flatten each ball with the palm of your hand until it is 3 to 4 inches wide. You may want to oil your hand first. Set rolls aside until they double in size, about 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Mix together the egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of water in a cup or small bowl. Brush onto the tops of the rolls. Position 2 oven racks so they are not too close to the top or bottom of the oven.
  • Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove the rolls from the oven and return them to different shelves so each one spends a little time on the top. Continue to bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until nicely browned on the top and bottom.

  • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add oil and sugar; let stand for 5 minutes. Add the egg, salt and enough flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 3-5 minutes. Do not let rise. Divide into 12 pieces; shape each into a ball.
