HOT WEENIES
This is a good appetizer for tailgating. Be sure to use Oscar Meyer hot dogs, all other will 'blow up'. The Oscar Meyers will keep the hot dog shape.

THOR'S PICKLED WIENIES (HOT DOGS)
These are so addictive. Thor remembered a "beer sausage" from his college days and set out to recreate it, since they are now non-existant. Be sure to use the entire bunch of dill, it does make a difference. I prefer to use Penzeys' Crushed Brown Mustard Seeds as they seem to impart a richer, more full-bodied flavor than regular mustard powder (but feel free to substitute the powder). You can also use the brine for pickled eggs. Cooking time is optimal chilling time.

- Let "marinate" in the frige for a week for the best flavor, then inhale as needed.

Steps:
- The day before: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a 15x10x1-inch baking pan with foil or parchment paper. Tightly wrap each cocktail wiener in a piece of bacon; secure with a wooden toothpick. Place in the prepared baking pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until bacon is brown and slightly crisp. Cool for 10 minutes. Remove and discard toothpicks. Place wieners in a storage container; cover and chill overnight. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan heat butter over medium heat until melted. Add onion and garlic; cook for 5 to 8 minutes or until onion is tender, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in beer, pasta sauce, hot pepper sauce, and chili powder. Transfer to a storage container; cover and chill overnight. Transfer cocktail wieners and sauce mixture to a 1 1/2-quart slow cooker with a car adapter. Cover and reheat on low-heat setting for 4 to 5 hours or until heated through. Tightly cover slow cooker and tote in an insulated carrier. At the tailgating site, plug slow cooker into car adapter and keep cocktail wieners warm on warm-heat setting.
CROCKPOT DRUNK BARBECUE WEINERS
This recipe has beer in it. It cooks out and leaves a great tasting dish. If you prefer you can use coca cola, root beer, sprite (your choise) instead. We have used this recipe many times for parties. People seem to never get tired of it.

COCKTAIL WIENERS
A sweet and savory treat for any get-together that will sure be a crowd pleaser. It's cheap and easy to make in a slow cooker with only three ingredients. I make this for any get-together and it is always a hit! I was a little unsure at first about the grape jelly concoction, but I tried it and have never done it any other way. It is so savory with just enough sweet. I always receive or over hear lots of agreement with the taste of the sauce. It always disappears at parties, and the next day I have cravings for these cocktail wienies. Try it for your next potluck, back yard BBQ, or any event!

DRUNKEN WIENERS
These are really yummy and make a good appetizer for parties, potlucks, etc...a lady my husband used to work with would make these and bring to our annual Xmas party. She never gave me the recipe but had told me what was in the sauce so I experimented until I got the same taste as the ones she made. ENJOY!!
