1 medium onion, sliced
1/4 raw cauliflower, sliced
2 fresh garlic cloves, chopped
1/3 head red cabbage, sliced
1 dozen snow peas, washed
2 medium tomatoes, sliced
0.5 (1 1/2 lb) package imitation crabmeat, sliced
olive oil
soy sauce
ginger

Steps:

  • Prepare all fresh veggies and place into individual bowls.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of ground ginger and salt on onions, cauliflower, cabbage, snow peas and tomatoes.
  • Coat bottom of frying pan or wok with olive oil.
  • When oil is hot add onions and sear for 5 minutes on high.
  • Add garlic, cabbage, snow peas and cauliflower.
  • Stir all ingredients together and add soy sauce to taste.
  • Decrease heat and cover pan. Let simmer for about 15 minutes.
  • Add imitation crab, toss ingredients to mix and cover. Simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Serve as is or over a bed of white rice.

⅔ cup uncooked long grain white rice
1 ⅓ cups water
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 medium onions, cut into wedges
3 cloves garlic, chopped
½ tablespoon white sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 egg, beaten
¼ pound cooked crabmeat
3 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
½ cucumber, sliced
1 lime, sliced

Steps:

  • Place the rice and water in a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Heat the oil in a wok over medium heat. Cook and stir the onions and garlic in the hot oil until tender. Mix in the rice, sugar, and salt, and cook 5 minutes, until well blended. Stir in the egg until the rice is coated. Increase heat to high, and mix in the crabmeat, green onions, and cilantro. Continue cooking 2 to 5 minutes, until the crab is heated through. Garnish with the cucumber and lime slices to serve.

1 tablespoon cornstarch
1-1/4 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup soy sauce
12 ounces imitation crabmeat, cut into 1-inch pieces

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet or wok, stir-fry the onion, green pepper, broccoli and mushrooms in oil for 3-4 minutes or until crisp-tender. , In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch, broth, water and soy sauce until smooth. Gradually stir into skillet. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in crab; cook 2-3 minutes longer or until heated through. Drain pasta; toss with crab mixture.

2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 cup sliced fresh carrots
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 cup fresh or frozen snow peas
1/2 cup julienned sweet red pepper
1 teaspoon minced fresh gingerroot
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 package (8 ounces) imitation crabmeat
Hot cooked rice, optional

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch, bouillon, water and soy sauce until smooth; set aside. In a large skillet or wok, stir-fry carrots in oil. Add the peas, red pepper, ginger and garlic; stir-fry 1-2 minutes longer or until vegetables are crisp-tender., Stir cornstarch mixture and gradually add to the pan. 10 eggs
1 teaspoon kosher salt
fresh ground black pepper
2 teaspoons minced garlic
3 tablespoons minced shallots
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tomatoes, peeled,seeded,and diced (1 1/2 cups)
1/3 cup thinly sliced basil (chiffonade)
2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
1/2 lb fresh lump crabmeat, picked over to remove cartilage

Steps:

  • In a bowl, whisk the eggs until frothy and season with half the salt and pepper.
  • In a nonstick 10-inch skillet, cook the garlic and shallots in the olive oil for 1 minute over moderate heat.
  • Add the tomatoes, basil, and thyme, raise the heat, and continue cooking until most of the water from the tomatoes has evaporated.
  • Stir in the crabmeat, season with the remaining salt and pepper, and cook 1 minute to heat through.
  • Stir the eggs into the skillet.
  • Over high heat, continue stirring with a wooden spoon while simultaneously shaking the pan back and forth over the flame.
  • The eggs will begin to form small curds.
  • Continue stirring and shaking until the eggs are set but still somewhat soft on top.
  • Loosen the frittata from the skillet with a rubber spatula and slide it onto a large dinner plate.
  • Cover the frittata with another dinner plate and invert the plates.
  • Slide the frittata back into the skillet and continue cooking over high heat to brown the other side, about 2 minutes.
  • The cooked frittata should be golden brown on both sides.
  • Carefully transfer the frittata to a large dinner plate, cut into wedges, and serve hot or at room temperature.

1 pound , lump crab meat
3 or 4 stalks scallion
2 slices fresh ginger root
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons sherry
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons oils or lard
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup water

Steps:

  • 1. Pick over and shred crabmeat. Cut scallion stalks in 1/2-inch sections. Mince ginger root. 2. Combine soy sauce, sherry and salt. 3. Heat oil. Add crabmeat and minced ginger root stir-fry about 1 minute over medium heat. Add scallion sections stir-fry a few times more. 4. Stir in soy-sherry mixture and heat quickly. Simmer, covered, 2 to 3 minutes. 5. Meanwhile blend cornstarch and cold water to a paste then stir in to thicken. Serve at once, either plain or with a vinegar dip (see Seasonings and Sauces, All-Purpose Seafood Dip). VARIATIONS: * For the lump crabmeat, substitute canned crabmeat or 2 crabs, shelled. * For the minced ginger, substitute 1 teaspoon ginger juice and blend into crabmeat. * In step 4, instead of simmering, stir-fry the ingredients over low heat until the liquids are nearly absorbed. Omit the cornstarch paste. * With "Black Bean Sauce"-Mash together 1 tablespoon fermented black beans (soaked) and 1 garlic clove. minced. Add to heated oil in step 3, stir-frying a few times. Then add the crabmeat. Omit the ginger root and soy sauce increase the sherry to 1/2 cup. * With "Chinese Cabbage I"-Shred and blanch 1 pound Chinese cabbage stems. Add with the scallion in step 3. * With "Chinese Cabbage II"-Cut 1 pound Chinese cabbage stems in 3-inch sections. Cook until tender in stock or water then drain and keep warm. After step 5, arrange crabmeat mixture over cooked cabbage stems and serve. * With Mushrooms-Drain 1/2 cup canned button mushrooms and add with scallions in step 3. Pick up steps 4 and 5. 8 imitation crab sticks
3 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
1 cup all-purpose flour
vegetable oil (for deep frying)

Steps:

  • Heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees.
  • Unwrap crabsticks and line them on foil or a plate.
  • Whisk together eggs and milk to create egg wash.
  • Dredge crab stick in flour; one at a time. (Coat evevly).
  • Then dredge the crabstick in egg wash. (coat evenly).
  • Now roll the crabstick in the panko breadcrumbs until completely covered.
  • Repeat steps 4 thru 6 for about two or three more crabsticks.
  • Deep fry at 350 degrees for about 2 minutes, turning over once. (Do not overcook, as the crab meat will begin to separate into strips.).
  • While these are cooking, prepare the remaining crabsticks.
  • NOTE: Do not overcrowd or cook all at once. Fry in batches for best results.
