8 eggs
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
10 -12 slices soft bread, 1 inch thick
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
2/3 cup maple syrup
2 cups pecans, chopped

Steps:

  • Generously butter a 13 X 9 inch casserole dish;.
  • Mix the eggs, half and half, maple syrup,and sugar in a large bowl.
  • Place the bread slices in the prepared casserole dish and cover with the egg mixture: cover with plastic wrap and let soak overnight in refrigerator.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees; remove the casserole from refrigerator.
  • Make the Topping: melt the butter in a saucepan; add sugar and maple syrup and cook for 1 to 2 minutes; stir in pecans;.
  • Pour the mixture over the bread and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, allow to cool 10 minutes before serving, enjoy.

2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • Place sliced bread in 2 large baking pans that have been sprayed with PAM.
  • Mix eggs, half and half, milk, sugar, vanilla, and spices.
  • Pour over bread.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • The next morning combine the last 3 ingredients and put on top.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg and bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until done.

6 tablespoons light corn syrup
½ cup whole milk

1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons white sugar

Steps:

  • Lightly grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  • Combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, 1/2 cup whole milk, and 1/8 teaspoon salt in a saucepan over medium heat; cook, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved and syrup is smooth, about 5 minutes. Pour syrup into the prepared casserole dish.
  • Arrange bread slices atop the syrup layer in the casserole dish.
  • Whisk 2 1/2 cups milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a bowl; pour milk mixture over bread. Cover casserole dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.

1 (1 pound) loaf challah bread, sliced 1/2-inch thick
4 eggs
1 quart half-and-half cream
½ cup orange juice
½ cup white sugar
½ cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup granola cereal
½ cup maple syrup
½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Steps:

  • Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish. Lay the bread slices into the prepared baking dish in 2 layers. Beat eggs, half-and-half cream, orange juice, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a bowl until smooth, and pour over the bread. With a large spoon, press the bread down into the egg mixture so all the bread becomes soaked with the mixture.
  • Sprinkle the granola evenly over the casserole, and drizzle with maple syrup and melted butter. Cover the dish with plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight.
  • About 1 hour before serving, remove the casserole from the refrigerator, and take off the plastic wrap. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, then turn oven temperature up to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Bake the casserole until browned, about 15 more minutes. Serve warm.

3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup warm heavy whipping cream (70° to 80°)

1/8 teaspoon salt
Additional maple syrup

Steps:

  • Place bread in a greased 2-qt. baking dish; press down gently. Sprinkle with raisins. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually beat in whipping cream and syrup; mix well. Whisk together the eggs, vanilla, cinnamon and salt; add to cream cheese mixture., Pour evenly over bread; lightly press bread into egg mixture with a spatula. I got this recipe from a friend when looking for something different to serve for a holiday brunch. We like ours with fruit and honey. Goes really well with cheesy ham cups that I've also posted. The prep time is putting it together along with refrigerate time.

10 cups bread cubes (cut into about 1-inch cubes, use stale bread but not hard for this)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
3 -4 tablespoons sugar (optional or to taste)
8 large eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups full-fat milk
2/3 cup half-and-half cream (or use all half and half cream)
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla
powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Place the bread cubes in a buttered 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl beat the softened cream cheese with sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth and well combined.
  • Add in eggs one at a time mixing well after each addition.
  • Add in milk, half and half cream, maple syrup and vanilla; beat until well combined.
  • Pour the cream cheese mixture over the bread cubes in the baking dish, using a fork or spoon gently lift the cubes so that they coat evenly with the egg mixture.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8-24 hours.
  • Next morning set oven to 375°F.
  • Remove the dish from the fridge and let sit out at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Bake uncovered for about 45-50 minutes or until set and a golden brown colour.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with maple more maple syrup.
  • Delicious!
