My tangy, smoky dip won the top prize in our office party recipe contest. Use your favorite beer or ale, but steer clear of dark varieties. -Ashley Lecker, Green Bay, Wisconsin

18 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sour cream
1-1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup amber beer or nonalcoholic beer
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 pound bacon strips, cooked and crumbled, divided
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1 green onion, thinly sliced
Soft pretzel bites

Steps:

  • In a greased 3-qt. slow cooker, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mustard and garlic powder until smooth. Stir in beer, cheese and all but 2 tablespoons bacon. Cook, covered, on low, stirring occasionally, until heated through, 3-4 hours., In the last 30 minutes, stir in heavy cream. Top with onion and remaining bacon. Serve with soft pretzel bites.

18 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sour cream
1-1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup beer or nonalcoholic beer
1 pound bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

Steps:

  • In a greased 6-qt. electric pressure cooker, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mustard and garlic powder until smooth. Stir in beer; add bacon, reserving 2 tablespoons. Lock lid; close pressure-release valve. Adjust to pressure-cook on high for 5 minutes. Quick-release pressure. , Select saute setting, and adjust for medium heat. Stir in cheese and heavy cream. Cook and stir until mixture has thickened, 3-4 minutes. Transfer to serving dish. Sprinkle with onion and reserved bacon. Serve with pretzel bun bites.

This is a great bacon and beer dip to serve as an appetizer at parties. It's quick and delicious! Serve with soft pretzels, chips, or veggies.

⅓ pound white American cheese
3 ounces light beer, or more if needed
3 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
1 stalk green onion, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Break cheese into pieces and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Add 3 ounces beer. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir, then continue to cook in 30-second increments until cheese is melted. If dip is too thick, add more beer.
  • Add crumbed bacon and green onion; stir to incorporate. Dip will thicken as it cools.
