Steps:
- The first step is to wash and peel the plums. Also be sure to remove the pit. Plum Puree Baby FoodNext you need to puree the plums. Add the plums to the blender. I usually fill mine about 1/3 to 1/2 full at a time and blend in batches to help speed the process up. You might need to also add a little water at this time. Only add water if the plum isn't blending well because it's too thick. If your plums are really juicy then this might not be a problem. Start with a few tablespoons as you can always add more. Like I said, if the plums get too thick they will not blend well. So keep stopping and scraping down the sides of the blender as needed and adding water until all the plums are smooth and blended well. You want it to be somewhat thick and not runny, so don't add too much water. You basically only want to add as much water as is needed to help the blender out. Otherwise the plums will just stick to the sides and won't fall down to the blades. But like I said, because plums are usually very juicy you might not need to add any liquid. Once all the plum is blended to a super smooth consistency you have baby food! Yep, it's that easy!
BABY FOOD PLUM CAKE
Everyone was baking this cake in the 70s! Virginia Schimmel, my senior English teacher, my inspiration for becoming an English teacher, and later my mentor at Woodham High School in Pensacola, gave it to me. Not only is it delicious, but it's very special because of the person who shared it with me. Photo:...

Steps:
- 1. Sift together flour, sugar, cinnamon, and cloves.
- 2. Add oil, vanilla, eggs, and plums. Beat until thoroughly mixed.
- 3. Pour batter into a greased Bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
- 4. Icing: Mix the sifted confectioners' sugar and lemon. Just make a little more if this isn't enough icing to give as much flavor as you'd like.
- 5. SANDY'S NOTE": I've had a hard time finding baby food plums lately. Apples and Blueberries will probably work just as well. Just anything with a purple color, but I don't know how well prunes will do.
