Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 11

3/4 cup fresh orange juice
1/4 cup dark hoisin sauce
3 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons ketchup
Coarse salt
1 large head broccoli, about 1 1/3 pounds
8 ounces wide egg noodles
8 ounces sugar snap peas, or snow peas, trimmed
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 pound boneless pork loin or tenderloin, sliced 1/2 inch thick, each slice cut into 1/2-inch-wide strips
3 tablespoons cornstarch

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, stir together orange juice, hoisin sauce, vinegar, ketchup, and 3/4 teaspoon salt; set sauce aside. Cut off tops 1 to 2 inches below florets. Trim broccoli and discard tough ends of stalks, then peel and thinly slice crosswise. Separate broccoli heads into florets.
  • In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook noodles until al dente according to package directions, adding broccoli (stalks and florets) and peas during last minute of cooking. Drain; transfer to a large bowl.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Dredge pork in cornstarch, shaking off excess. Saute pork until lightly browned and cooked through, tossing frequently, about 3 minutes. Pour in reserved sauce, and bring to a boil. Add to bowl with noodles; toss to combine.

Chinese Noodles with Pork & Spicy Peanut Sauce image

This super easy 20-min meal is perfect for a busy weeknight. The creamy Chinese pork with spicy peanut butter noodles is delicious with rice noodles or regular pasta. Whatever you have on hand!

Provided by Tiffany Dahle

Categories     Quick Dinners

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 soy sauce
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 lb ground pork
Heavy sprinkle of red pepper flakes
3/4 cup minced green onions, both white & green parts (about 3-4 onion stalks)
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
1 14oz package of rice noodles (or 1 16oz package of linguine pasta)

Steps:

  • Set a large pot of water to boil for the pasta. Cook the noodles according to the package directions and drain. While you're waiting for the water to boil, start assembling the pork and sauce. Assemble the sauce: Use a fork to whisk together the chicken broth, hoisin sauce, and soy sauce together in a glass measuring cup. Set near the stovetop. Brown the pork: Heat 1 tablespoon canola oil in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Brown the pork until no longer pink, breaking it up with the back of a spoon as you go. Add the red pepper flakes, half of the green onions, garlic, and ginger. Stir to combine. Heat until fragrant. Pour in the pre-whisked sauce and add the two tablespoons of peanut butter. Stir to combine. Heat until sauce bubbles and thickens and then reduce heat to low and keep warm while the pasta finishes cooking. Add the drained noodles to the sauté pan and toss together with a pair of tongs so that they are all coated with sauce. Garnish with remaining green onions and serve.

ASIAN PORK NOODLE STIR FRY

Asian Pork Noodle Stir Fry image

An EASY comfort food stir fry that's ready in 20 minutes with so many textures and flavors in every bite!! Juicy pork, tender noodles, crisp-tender veggies in a bath of sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, and chili garlic sauce if you want to turn up the heat!!

Provided by Averie Sunshine

Categories     30-Minute Meals

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 14

8 ounces thin wheat somen noodles
2 tablespoons olive oil, or as needed
2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
1 medium sweet Vidalia or yellow onion, diced small
1 baby bok choy, trimmed and sliced in 1 1/2-inch wide sections
1 pound ground pork sausage (I used regular, spicy may be substituted)
1 large bell pepper, sliced into thin strips (I used yellow but another color may be substituted)
1 1/2 cups shredded carrots (use store bought in a bag to save time)
1 medium broccoli crown, trimmed into bite-sized florets
1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce, or as desired
1 to 4 tablespoons chili garlic sauce, or as desired (start with 1/2 tablespoon if you're sensitive to heat)
1 to 3 teaspoons ground ginger, or as desired (start with 1 teaspoon if you're sensitive to heat)
salt and pepper, optional and to taste (likely not necessary)
sesame seeds, optional for garnishing

Steps:

  • To a medium pot, bring water to a boil over high heat, cook the noodles according to package directions (likely 90 to 120 seconds), drain, rinse; set aside. While you're waiting for the water to boil and the noodles to cook, move on to the next steps.
  • To a large, high-sided skillet, add the oils, onion, boy choy, and saute over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes, or until vegetables are beginning to soften; stir frequently.
  • Add the pork, bell pepper, carrots, and cook over medium high heat for about 5 to 7 minutes, or until pork is cooked through and all vegetables are tender. Crumble pork as it cooks and stir frequently to ensure even cooking. At any point in cooking add additional olive oil if necessary.
  • Add the broccoli and stir to combine.
  • Add the cooked noodles, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, ginger, and stir to combine. Turn the heat to low and allow the food to simmer for about 3 to 4 minutes, or until broccoli is as crisp tender as desired. Stir thoroughly to ensure food is coated evenly with sauces.
  • Taste the dish and if desired add salt or pepper (I did not need either), extra soy sauce, or chili garlic sauce for additional spiciness.
  • Optionally garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately.

  • In a very large nonstick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the canola oil. Add the shallots and garlic and stir-fry over moderately high heat until lightly browned, about 2 minutes. Add the ground pork, brown sugar, black bean sauce, dried chiles, Maggi sauce and fish sauce and cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until it is browned in spots, about 10 minutes. Add 3/4 cup of the chicken broth and cook over moderately low heat until the broth has evaporated, about 8 minutes. Stir in 1 tablespoon of the vinegar. Transfer the ground pork mixture to a bowl and wipe out the skillet.
  • In a jar, combine the remaining 1/2 cup of chicken broth and 1/2 tablespoon of vinegar with the oyster sauce, sesame oil and sambal oelek. Seal the jar and shake the sauce to blend.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the Chinese broccoli and cook until it is crisp-tender, about 2 minutes. Using tongs, transfer the broccoli to a work surface and cut it into 1-inch pieces. Return the water to a boil and add the noodles. Cook just until al dente. • Whisk all the sauce ingredients together (soy sauce, water, oil, honey, sugar, fish sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger, peppers, hoisin, and peanut butter). You could also puree the sauce in a food processor to get the garlic, peppers, and ginger smooth.
  • Marinate the pork in the sauce overnight or for at least a few hours. I did mine overnight and then some, about 15 hours.
  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium high heat and stir-fry the pork until browned on the outside. I found that there wasn’t a whole lot of extra sauce after marinating, but I discarded the little bit that was left.
  • Cook your rice noodles according to package directions. Keep a little bit of liquid with the noodles to make sure it doesn’t dry out. Top with pork, carrots, scallions, peanuts, cilantro, and extra sauce of choice (more hoisin sauce, soy sauce, sweet chili garlic sauce, sesame oil, etc). This is definitely a build-your-own kind of thing – just throw whatever you like in there with the noodles.

Drain the noodles, shaking off the excess water.
  • Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil in the skillet. Add the roast pork, ground pork, broccoli and noodles and toss to combine. Add the sauce and cook, tossing, until the noodles are evenly coated, 5 minutes. Add the scallion, transfer to a large platter and serve.

  • Pour ¼ cup oil into the wok over medium heat and add the chilis. Let the peppers infuse the oil for 1 minute. Add the minced ginger and Sichuan peppercorn powder, if using, and fry for another minute.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds. Then add the ground pork. Stir until just cooked through, breaking up any big chunks. Next, add 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine, ½ teaspoon of sugar, ½ teaspoon white pepper, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, and ½ teaspoon sesame oil. Then add 2 heaping tablespoons of the black bean hot sauce. Stir and cook for a minute.
  • Turn the heat up to high and add the cooked spaghetti, peanuts, scallions, and leafy veggies. Quickly stir fry for a few minutes to heat them through. Stir fry to combine, moving quickly so the spaghetti doesn’t stick to the wok. Cook until the veggies are wilted/just cooked through.
