1 slice crusty white bread
1/4 medium apple, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon golden raisins

Steps:

  • Spread peanut butter over bread. Top with apple and raisins; sprinkle with cinnamon.

Um, yum! Start your day off richly with this fruity breakfast sandwich. We can't wait to try it with peach pie filling too!

2 large eggs
1/2 c whole milk
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
4 slice raisin bread (wonder is best)
1/2 c apple pie filling
1 Tbsp butter
additional butter
powered sugar (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. In a large baking dish, whisk eggs, milk, and cinnamon, set aside. Make 2 sandwiches with the bread and apple pie filling. Place sandwiches into egg mixture. Let soak until egg mixture is completely absorbed into the bread, turning sandwiches once. Takes about 3 minutes.
  • 2. On a griddle over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter. Cook sandwiches on the griddle until brown and heated through, about 4 minutes per side.
  • 3. Cut each sandwich in half. Transfer to plates and serve with additional butter. Top with powdered sugar if desired.

1-1/4 cups vegetable oil
4 large eggs, room temperature
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
2-1/2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 cups diced peeled tart apples
2/3 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°. In a bowl, beat oil, eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, cloves and baking powder; beat into the egg mixture. Stir in apples, raisins and nuts. Pour into two greased 9x5-in. loaf pans. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 60-70 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.

1 Royal Gala apple - peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup white wine
¼ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
⅓ cup golden raisins

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a skillet over low heat. Add apples, and increase the heat to medium-high. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the white wine, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and golden raisins. Cook over medium heat until the liquid has reduced and is thick.

1/4 cup whole milk
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 slices raisin bread
1/2 cup commercial apple pie filling
1 tablespoon butter
additional butter
powdered sugar

Steps:

  • In a shallow baking dish, add the eggs, milk, and cinnamon; whisk to combine and set aside.
  • Spread the pie filling onto 2 slices of bread; top with remaining slices of bread to make 2 sandwiches.
  • Place sandwiches in the egg mixture.
  • Let soak for about 3 minutes or until the egg mixture is absorbed into the bread (turn sandwiches occasionally).
