Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9-by-13-inch pan.
- Peel and core the apples, then cut each into 8 slices. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll piece, then transfer to the prepared pan.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the sugar and barely stir. Add the vanilla and stir slightly, then pour the entire mixture over the apples. Pour the citrus soda around the edges of the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake until golden brown and crispy on top, about 40 minutes.
- Serve, spooning some of the sweet sauces from the pan over the top.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, combine apple wedges and lemon juice.
- In a small bowl, mix together sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Sprinkle over apple wedges and toss until fully coated.
- Lightly flour a work surface and unroll the pie crusts. Using a round 4-inch (10 cm) cookie cutter, cut out discs. Arrange discs on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- Place an apple wedge on one half of each disc. Using a round piping tip, cut circles into the other half. Lightly moisten the edges with water with your finger. Fold over and seal. Crimp edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops of shaped dumplings with egg wash and sprinkle with sparkling sugar.
- Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden in color.
- Cool completely.
- Serve with caramel dipping sauce.
- Enjoy!

- Prepare pie plate with bottom crust.
- to prepare the WALNUT RAISIN FILLING:.
- combine all ingredients in a food processor, pulse till mixture is finely ground to make filling.
- select an oven proof skillet, melt butter over medium heat, then stir in brown sugar, and preserves.about 30 seconds, till bubbly.
- Do not peel apples.the peels help hold them together.
- Cut each apple in half.core each apple.You will have (8) halves.
- Place apple halves in the pie pan.cut side down.6 on the outside, 1 in the center.
- Dice remaining apple half, and scatter pieces between the apples.
- Preheat ovento 400*.
- Spoon some of the raisin mixture into each apple half.press down with finger.
- Sprinkle left over between apples.
- Top with pastry top.
- Bake at 400*.lower heat and finish till golden brown at 360*.

These are the ones my grandmother used to make: warm, flaky, apple-y sweet and drizzled with a sauce that bakes right with them. These are not difficult to make, just a little time-consuming. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Butter a 9x13 inch pan.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll pastry into a large rectangle, about 24 by 16 inches. Cut into 6 square pieces. Place an apple on each pastry square with the cored opening facing upward. Cut butter into 8 pieces. Place 1 piece of butter in the opening of each apple; reserve remaining butter for sauce. Divide brown sugar between apples, poking some inside each cored opening and the rest around the base of each apple. Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over the apples.
- With slightly wet fingertips, bring one corner of pastry square up to the top of the apple, then bring the opposite corner to the top and press together. Bring up the two remaining corners, and seal. Slightly pinch the dough at the sides to completely seal in the apple. Repeat with the remaining apples. Place in prepared baking dish.
- In a saucepan, combine water, white sugar, vanilla extract and reserved butter. Place over medium heat, and bring to a boil in a large saucepan. Boil for 5 minutes, or until sugar is dissolved. Carefully pour over dumplings.
- Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes. Place each apple dumpling in a dessert bowl, and spoon some sauce over the top.

- Make your pie crust as you normally do and divide evenly for the amount of apples you have (6 for 6 apples, 8 for 8 apples etc.).
- mix the dry ingredients.
- Roll out pastry (the size of a small egg) into a circle big enough to"cover" the whole apple.
- Place an apple in center of each circle of dough and fill hole where core was with a pat of butter, some of the dry mix and top with another pat of butter.
- "fold"dough up and encase apple with dough sealing at the top.
- They will look like a"purse" sort of.
- Bake 350F degrees until dough is golden brown and apple is tender.

- peel, core, and quarter apples.
- place 1 whole apple into 1 section of dough. fill with 1 teaspoons sugar, 1 teaspoons cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, and 1 pat of butter. bring up sides of dough to enclose apple. place in greased baking dish.
- repeat with rest of apples.
- bake at 350F for 20 minutes or until apples are soft.

- Place a rack in bottom third of oven and preheat to 400°F. Mist a 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray and line a large, rimmed baking sheet with foil.
- Place apples in a large bowl. In a smaller bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, salt, cinnamon and 1 Tbsp. sugar; sprinkle over apples and toss to coat slices evenly.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When foaming subsides and butter turns light golden, add brown sugar and walnuts. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar melts and walnuts are lightly toasted, 3 to 4 minutes. (Be careful: The mixture can burn easily.) Add raisins and stir to coat. Pour in calvados; it will bubble and spatter. Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture becomes syrupy, 2 to 3 minutes. Pour mixture over apples and toss to coat.
- Roll out half of dough into a 12-inch circle; press into pie plate. Spoon apple mixture into crust, mounding in center. Roll remaining dough into another 12-inch circle. Brush edge of bottom crust with water; gently place top crust over apples. Trim and crimp edges decoratively to seal. Cut a few slashes in top to allow steam to escape. Brush top with cream; sprinkle with 1 Tbsp. sugar. Place pie on lined baking sheet and bake until crust is golden brown and filling bubbles through top, 45 to 55 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes; serve.
