2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter, plus more for greasing the pan
2 Granny Smith apples
Two 8-ounce cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 ounces citrus-flavored soda, such as Mountain Dew (two-thirds of a 12-ounce can)
Cinnamon, for sprinkling

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9-by-13-inch pan.
  • Peel and core the apples, then cut each into 8 slices. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll piece, then transfer to the prepared pan.
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan, then add the sugar and barely stir. Add the vanilla and stir slightly, then pour the entire mixture over the apples. Pour the citrus soda around the edges of the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake until golden brown and crispy on top, about 40 minutes.
  • Serve, spooning some of the sweet sauces from the pan over the top.

SAUCE:
2 c granulated sugar
2 c water
1/4 c margarine or butter
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
DOUGH:
2 c all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 c shortening
2/3 c milk
FILLING:
1/4 c granulated sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
3 c shredded, peeled granny smith apples (3-4 medium)

Steps:

  • 1. For sauce, in a large saucepan, combine 2 cups sugar, the water, margarine, 1/4 t. each of cinnamon and nutmeg. Bring to boiling and boil for 5 minutes; set aside (should have about 2 cups of sauce).
  • 2. For dough, in a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Using a pastry blender, cut in shortening until pea-size. Make well in center. Add milk all at once. Stir just until moistened. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface 10-12 strokes or until nearly smooth. Roll out to 12X10 inch rectangle.
  • 3. For filling, combine 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 t. cinnamon; set aside. Sprinkle apples evenly over dough. Sprinkle with sugar mixture. Roll dough into spiral starting from a long side. Pinch seam to seal. Cut into twelve 1-inch thick pieces. Pour sauce over dumplings. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 50 minutes or until golden brown. Serves 12...Enjoy!
  • 4. This recipe could be made with peaches, diced finely or pears. It would also be awesome with whipping cream or ice cream to top it off! YUM May add walnuts if desired...

2 teaspoons baking powder
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
1-1/3 cups 2% milk
3/4 to 1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
4 cups chopped apples (about 4 medium)
SAUCE:
1-1/2 cups sugar
1-1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk; stir just until moistened (dough will be soft and sticky)., Turn dough onto a floured surface. Roll into an 18x12-in. rectangle. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon to within 1 in. of edges; top with apples. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side; pinch seam to seal. Using a serrated knife, cut into 12 slices. Place in a greased 13x9-in. baking pan, cut side down., In a small saucepan, combine sauce ingredients; bring to a boil, whisking to blend. Cook and stir 3-4 minutes or until thickened. Pour over top., Bake, uncovered, until golden brown and bubbly, 45-55 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

3 -4 tart apples
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 (12 ounce) can Mountain Dew soda

Steps:

  • Spray a 13x9 baking dish or pan.
  • Peel and slice apples into 16 pieces.
  • Roll each apple slice in 1 section of crescent roll.
  • Place rolled slices in pan in two rows, put extras along side.
  • Melt butter, add sugar and cinnamon and pour over apples.
  • Pour can of Mountain Dew over all.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
3 tablespoons ice water
2 medium baking apples

SAUCE:
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons Red Hots or 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
2/3 cup water
1 tablespoon butter
Additional half-and-half cream, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. In a bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. With a fork, stir in water until dough forms a ball. Roll out on a floured surface to a 14x7-in. rectangle; cut crust in half. , Peel and core apples; place an apple on each square of crust. Combine sugar and cinnamon; spoon into apples. Moisten edges of crust with water and gather around apples; pinch seams to seal., Place dumplings in an ungreased 9x5-in. loaf pan or a shallow 1-1/2-qt. baking dish. 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent rolls
⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup butter
¾ cup white sugar
1 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Wrap each apple piece in one crescent roll. Place seam side down in an 8x8 baking dish and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • In medium saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and orange juice; bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour over rolls.

Open the can of cinnamon rolls and unroll each cinnamon rolls, cut in half, and begin to take a half of the cinnamon roll pieces and wrap with a single apple slice. Place inside 9X13 casserole dish.   • In a medium sauce pan, melt the butter on medium heat. Add the brown sugar and allow to come to melt, about 2-3 minutes. Next, add the Bourbon and stir until smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
