AMY'S SUGAR COOKIES
Old family recipe passed down from my aunt to my mom, and me. This is a very good sugar cookie, great for decorating.

Steps:
- Cream margarine, Crisco and sugar together.
- Add egg and vanilla, then gradually add all dry ingredients.
- Beat till thoroughly mixed.
- Dough should be firm, but have a creamy texture.
- Chill for 30 minutes in refridgerator.
- Roll into little balls, or use a small cookie scooper.
- Roll individual dough balls in sugar.
- Bake at 350° until pale golden for 8-12 minutes. Do not over bake.

These are my favorite cookies, though they take a while to mix. I make them on a regular basis, because I enjoy them so very much! My family likes Betty Crocker, but not this gal!!!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix the first 6 ingredients.
- Add the next 5 ingredients in any order.
- Add chocolate chips and stir.
- Add flour and mix very well.
- For best results, refrigerate cookie dough overnight. Otherwise, they will be rather flat.
- Form cookie dough into balls. Bake in preheated oven for 15-17 minutes or until desired color is achieved.

AMISH SUGAR COOKIES
Everyone I've ever made these cookies for describes them as very similar to tea cakes; they are very fluffy with a unique flavor. The recipe was given to me by a close friend of my great-aunt Jackie. They are YUM YUM good!!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In a very large mixing bowl, cream together; eggs, sugar, and oil.
- Add buttermilk, baking soda, salt, baking powder, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually beat in flour, and beat until mixture is smooth.
- Allow batter sit for about 5 minutes after beating in all the flour.
- Pour by 1/4 cupfulls onto a greased cookie sheet.
- Sprinkle tops of cookies with cinnamon sugar.
- Bake at 400° for 7-8 minutes. Watch carefully and do not overbake.
- If the cookie springs back when touched, it's done.
