Amarula Coffee Surprise image

This is a sweet coffee drink, with the wonderful addition of Amarula....a cream liquer from South Africa. From the Amarula website. I added the optional grated chocolate. Prep and cooking time does not include the time to brew the coffee. Cooking time posted is actually the time to assemble the drink.

4 cups coffee, strongly brewed
50 ml whipped cream
60 ml Amarula cream liqueur
8 marshmallows
20 ml brown sugar
20 ml hot chocolate powder
grated chocolate (optional)

Steps:

  • Pour the coffee in large coffee mugs. Pour the Amarula Cream in each coffee, followed by the whipped cream, brown sugar and marshmallows. Sprinkle with hot chocolate powder and extra Amarula Cream. Top with grated chocolate if desired.
  • Conversions: 1 tot = 30ml = 1 oz = 3cl = 1 shot.

Amarula is a creamy liqueur made from the exotic fruit of the African Marula tree normally found in Sub-Saharan African. This tree is also called the elephant tree because elephants love eating the fruits which fall on the ground and are fermented in the sun, it is rumored to make them tipsy. Most people do not have access to marula fruit so this recipe for Amarula will serve you in its absence.Africa

1 tbsp coffee
8 shots whiskey
1 can condensed milk
200 ml full cream
1 tsp honey

Steps:

  • Ensure you have quality coffee.
  • Make a very strong coffee. It should be about 100 ml filter and allow to cool.
  • Pour in the whiskey, condensed milk, full cream and honey and mix properly.
  • Transfer into a bottle and store in the fridge to ferment for 7 days. Ensure you shake every day.

Steps:

  • Add Jägermeister Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, bourbon, Pilot Cold Brew Coffee and simple syrup to a shaker.Shake with ice.Strain into a chilled martini glass.Fill a cocktail shaker half-full of Amarula Cream Liqueur.Shake until thick and frothy.Float shaken Amarula.Garnish with a sprinkling of ground cinnamon and a few coffee beans. Enjoy!
