Cooking spray
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
12 ounces lager beer
2 tablespoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Coat an 8-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Make a well in the center. Pour in beer and olive oil and mix until just blended. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and bake 45 minutes, until golden brown.

Beer Bread is a quick bread to make to accompany any beef dish. The type of beer you use will change the taste.

1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer
3 cups self-rising flour
3 tablespoons white sugar

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix together the sugar and flour. Add beer and continue to mix, first using a wooden spoon, then your hands. Batter will be sticky. Pour into a 9 x 5 inch greased loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees ) for 50 for 60 minutes. The top will be crunchy, and the insides will be soft. Serve topped with butter or cheese spread.

1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 (12 ounce) bottle alaskan amber beer

Steps:

  • Mix together in a bowl, the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Add 12 ounces Alaskan Amber Beer*.
  • Mix until evenly moistened.
  • Bake in oiled loaf pan at 400°F for about 45 minutes.
  • Invert onto rack and remove pan.
  • Serve with butter& honey.
  • *You could probably substitute any brand of"Amber" beer in this recipe.

1 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried sage
1 (12 ounce) bottle alaskan ESB beer
1 cup cheddar cheese, finely grated

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Grease and flour a large (9-inch) loaf pan.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sage.
  • Stir in the Alaskan ESB and cheese until complete blended.
  • Spread evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Bake until a thin wooden skewer inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean, 50-55 minutes.
  • Cool the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
