¼ cup olive oil
1 tablespoon coconut aminos (soy-free seasoning sauce)
2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning
½ teaspoon garlic powder
2 strip steaks, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
4 ounces portobello mushrooms, quartered

Steps:

  • Combine olive oil, coconut aminos, steak seasoning, and garlic powder in a small bowl. Mix well, add steak pieces, and marinate for 15 minutes.
  • Preheat an air fryer to 390 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line the bottom of the air fryer basket with perforated parchment paper.
  • Drain steak pieces from marinade. Add steak and quartered portobello mushrooms to the air fryer basket.
  • Cook in the preheated air fryer for 5 minutes. Remove basket, toss steak and mushrooms around, and continue cooking for an additional 4 minutes.

Air Fryer Portobello Mushrooms are juicy and tender on the inside. Easy to make and flavorful with just a few simple spices, these versatile mushrooms make a great meat alternative!

4 portobello mushrooms
1 tablespoon avocado oil
1/2 teaspoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt (more or less to taste)
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Clean the portobello mushrooms with a damp (paper) towel. Then place the portobello mushrooms onto a large plate or into a baking dish.
  • Add the oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and garlic powder to a small bowl and mix well.
  • Brush both sides of the mushrooms with the spice dressing. If your portobello mushrooms are very big, you might want to add some extra salt, pepper, or garlic powder to ensure good spice coverage.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Once it's hot, add the mushrooms to the air fryer with the cap side down. You can spoon any of the leftover dressing into them at this point. Make sure that the portobello mushrooms fit into the air fryer in one layer without overlap. If you can't fit them in all at once, cook them in two batches.
  • Cook the mushrooms for 6-7 minutes for medium-sized mushrooms, and 8-10 minutes for large portobello mushrooms. Flip them over halfway through the cooking time. Since every air fryer is slightly different, your cook time can vary.
  • When the portobello mushrooms are cooked to your liking, remove them from the air fryer and serve with dips of your choice, as a side dish or use them for a portobello burger.

8 ounces button mushrooms, sliced
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon crushed chile flakes

Steps:

  • Combine steak, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, parsley, paprika, and chile flakes in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes prior to cooking.
  • Preheat an air fryer to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Drain and discard marinade from steak mixture. Place steak and mushrooms into the basket of the air fryer.
  • Cook in the preheated air fryer for 5 minutes. Toss and cook 5 additional minutes. Transfer steak and mushrooms to a serving plate and let rest 5 minutes.

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

4 tomato slices
2 slices mozzarella cheese
2 slices Italian bread (1 inch thick)
Chopped fresh basil

Steps:

  • Place mushrooms in a shallow bowl. Mix oil, vinegar, salt and dried basil; brush onto both sides of mushrooms. Let stand 5 minutes. Reserve remaining marinade. Preheat air fryer to 400°., Place mushrooms on greased tray in air-fryer basket, stem side down. Cook until tender, 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from basket.
