1 1/2 lbs squid (pusit)
1/2 cup vinegar
1 onion; chopped
1 tomato; chopped
4-5 cloves garlic; crushed
1/4 cup soy sauce
Pepper
Salt (optional ingredient)

Steps:

  • Wash and Clean the squid by removing all the entrails.
  • Saute garlic, onion, and tomato.
  • Add the squid, pepper, vinegar, and soy sauce.
  • Simmer until the dish is cooked.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Serve with Rice

Adobong pusit is a squid dish that uses the popular method of cooking the famous pork adobo here in the Philippines.

1 kg squid (cleaned)
1 pc onion (chopped)
4 cloves garlic (minced)
2 pcs tomato (cut into cubes)
½ cup vinegar
4 tbsp soy sauce
1 cup water
3 tbsp cooking oil (for frying)
salt and pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • In a cooking pot, pour in the water, vinegar, and soy sauce. Bring to a boil.
  • Add in the squid. Simmer for 5 to 7 minutes. Set aside.
  • In a separate cooking pan, pour and heat the cooking oil over low to medium heat.
  • Add in the garlic, onions, and tomatoes. Saute until cooked through and aromatic.
  • Add the squid into the cooking pan. Then pour in the liquid mixture used to cook the squid. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  • Transfer to a serving tray or serving bowl. Serve and enjoy!

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 small onion, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tomato, chopped
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • Combine the squid, vinegar, and water in a small pot over medium heat; season with salt and pepper. Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat; cook and stir the onion and garlic in the hot oil until softened, 5 to 7 minutes. Stir the tomato and soy sauce into the mixture. Pour the squid mixture into the saucepan and bring to a simmer; cook together another 20 minutes.

1/4 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 teaspoon pepper
5 garlic cloves
2 tablespoons oil
1/2 cup onion
2 tomatoes
3 tablespoons sugar
1 bay leaf

Steps:

  • Clean squid.
  • Chop tomatoes.
  • Crush garlic.
  • Slice onion.
  • Combine water, vinegar, pepper, sugar, salt, bay leaf and half of the garlic.
  • Marinate squid in this mixture for 1 hour.
  • Drain squid, keeping the marinade.
  • In pan, saute onion, remaining garlic and tomato in the oil.
  • Add drained squid.
  • Saute until juice evaporates, about 10 minutes.
  • Strain marinade.
  • Add to squid mixture.
  • Simmer 15 minutes.
