BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE -- 9X5X3-INCH LOAF SIZE
From the back of a Domino 1-lb light brown sugar box -- makes a 9x5x3-inch loaf size -- serves 8. Serve with optional whipped cream and assorted berries. Although not called for in the recipe, I'll add 1 cup toasted chopped pecans when I make it! :)

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350F (325F glass or dark loaf pan).
- Grease and flour a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time.
- Add vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
- Gradually add flour mixture to sugar mixture.
- If desired, add TOASTED chopped pecans.
- Pour batter into pan.
- (CHECK CAKE AT 55 MINUTES FOR DONE-NESS) ~ Bake approximately one hour or until a toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
- Remove from pan and cool completely a wire rack. Serves 8.
- If desired, garnish with whipped cream and assorted berries.

ONE PAN BANANA BREAD
A one pan recipe with minimal clean-up required. A little sister in my husband's fraternity was kind enough to share her recipe with me which I've since made dozens of times.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Generously grease the bottom only of a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
- Stir all ingredients in pan with a fork until moistened; beat vigorously 1 minute.
- Bake 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool 5 minutes.
- Run knife around sides of loaf to loosen, remove from pan.
- Cool completely.
- (if loaf sticks to pan, press gently on side of loaf with a knife).

Steps:
- 1 pound lean ground beef (sirloin).
- 1 pound ground chuck.
- 1/2 cup milk.
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire' sauce.
- 1/2 tsp salt.
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard.
- 1/4 tsp pepper.
- 2 tsp minced garlic.
- 1 egg.
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs or panko.
- 1/2 cup ketchup.
- Preheat oven to 350* F. degrees.
- Combine ground beef, ground chuck, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, dry mustard, pepper, minced garlic, eggs, & bread crumbs/panko in a large mixing bowl.
- Work together with your hands until completely combined - but don't over-work the meat.
- Spray a 9x5x3 loaf pan with olive oil or cooking spray.
- Transfer the meat mixture to the pan & pat down so it's smooth on top.
- Add the ketchup to the top & spread evenly with a spatula.
- Bake uncovered for 60-75 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.
- **TIP- you can use your stand mixer with the paddle attachment & pulse several times just until mixed- don't let it get pasty.
