This is an old salad but it is delicious. so all salad fanatics unite and eat salad.

1/2 large head of lettuce chopped finely [1st layer]
1 large head of cauliflower flowerettes [2nd layer]
1 medium onion, minced, [3rd layer]
1 c real bacon bits [4th layer]
1 1/2 c miracle whip [5th layer]
1/4 c parmasean cheese, [6th layer]
1/2 c sugar [7th layer]

Steps:

  • 1. Layer and let stand in refrigerator. Stir before serving.

Cauliflower is definitely not one of my favorite things to eat, but I can't get enough of this salad when I make it.

1 head iceberg lettuce, torn into pieces
1 head cauliflower, cut into bite size pieces
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 small onion, chopped
1 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 cup sugar

Steps:

  • In an oblong (13x10) dish, layer first lettuce then cauliflower.
  • Spread mayonnaise over cauliflower, then make a layer of chopped onion.
  • Spread bacon over the onion, then make a layer of Parmesan cheese.
  • Last, spread the sugar over the cheese.
  • Refrigerate overnight, then toss before serving.

I usually make this bacon, lettuce, onion, pea, cheese and cauliflower layered salad in a large flat bowl. There's never too much because everybody loves it! You can vary the salad by substituting green onions for red, jack cheese for the Cheddar, etc.

1 pound bacon
1 large head iceberg lettuce - rinsed, dried, and chopped
1 red onion, chopped
1 (10 ounce) package frozen green peas, thawed
10 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup chopped cauliflower
1 ¼ cups mayonnaise
2 tablespoons white sugar
⅔ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Crumble and set aside.
  • In a large flat bowl, place the chopped lettuce and top with a layer of onion, peas, shredded cheese, cauliflower and bacon.
  • Prepare the dressing by whisking together the mayonnaise, sugar and Parmesan cheese. Drizzle over salad and refrigerate until chilled.

This is one of my favorite salads......add chopped cooked chicken or crumbled bacon to make this into a main dish.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 head lettuce, torn in small pieces
1 head cauliflower, cut small
5 ounces frozen peas, thawed
1 lb crisp bacon, chopped
1/2 medium red onion, sliced in thin rings
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups Hellmann's mayonnaise

Steps:

  • Using a large bowl, place in layers in the following order.
  • lettuce
  • cauliflower
  • peas
  • bacon
  • red onion.
  • Mix the parmesan cheese, sugar and mayo together and "frost" the top of the layered veggies
  • Cover and chill 8 hours or overnight.
  • When ready to serve, let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes before tossing.
  • Can be cut in half for less people.
