This dish has a white, sour cream middle layer. I make it with red and blue on the 4th of July, red and green at Christmas but any two colours you like will work. This dish is best served in a glass dish so the layers can be seen.

Ingredients

2 (3 ounce) packages Jello gelatin, colours of choice
1 (1/4 ounce) envelope unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
1 cup milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup sour cream

Steps:

Prepare one package of jello according to directions on box, pour in serving dish.
Sprinkle unflavoured gelatin over cold water,let stand 5 minutes.
Heat milk over med heat.
Add sugar, stir until dissolved.
Stir in prepared unflavoured gelatin.
Cool to room temperature.
Stir in sour cream.
Pour sour cream mix over the first layer when the first layer is mostly set ( will be firm but sticky, your finger will leave a mark).
When second layer is mostly set pour the last layer.
Prepare the last layer in advance (or use ice quick set method) so that it is cool when poured.
Place dish in fridge for several hours or overnight to set completely.

1 package (3 ounces) raspberry gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 package (10 ounces) frozen sweetened raspberries
ORANGE LAYER:
1 can (11 ounces) mandarin oranges
1 package (3 ounces) orange gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
LIME LAYER:
1 package (3 ounces) lime gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1 can (8-1/2 ounces) crushed pineapple

Steps:

In a large bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in raspberries until thawed. Pour in a greased 8-in. square dish; refrigerate until set., Drain oranges, reserving juice. In small bowl, dissolve orange gelatin in boiling water. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and reserved juice until smooth. Add gelatin mixture and mix well. Fold in oranges. Pour over raspberry layer; refrigerate until set. , In a large bowl, dissolve lime gelatin in boiling water. Stir in pineapple; cool for 10 minutes. Carefully spoon over orange layer. Refrigerate until set.

This is a variation on the traditional cranberry/pineapple salad; red and green layers with a cream cheese layer in between. My mom makes this at Christmas and/or Thanksgiving and I can't stop eating it. Would be good for potlucks, too. Yum!

1 (6 ounce) package cranberry Jell-O gelatin or 1 (6 ounce) package cherry gelatin
1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
1 (6 ounce) package lime Jell-O gelatin
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained, divided
1 cup sour cream (8oz container)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
2 cups boiling water, divided

Steps:

Dissolve red jello in 1 cup boiling water and stir in half the can of pineapple and all of the can of whole berry cranberry sauce.
Spread in bottom of 9x13 glass dish and chill until partially set.
Combine sour cream and cream cheese and spread over red jello layer.
In a separate bowl, dissolve green jello in 1 cup boiling water and stir in the remaining half can of pineapple; chill until partially set.
Spread over the top of the cream cheese layer.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or several hours until completely set.

1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
2 tablespoons cold water
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup whole milk
BERRY LAYER:
2 packages (3 ounces each) strawberry gelatin
2 cups boiling water
1 can (14 ounces) whole-berry cranberry sauce
Optional ingredients: Thawed whipped topping, lime wedges and fresh strawberries

Steps:

Dissolve lime gelatin in boiling water; stir in pineapple juice. Stir in pineapple. Pour into an 11x7-in. dish; refrigerate until set., In a small saucepan, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over cold water; let stand for 1 minute. Heat over low heat, stirring until gelatin is completely dissolved. Transfer to a small bowl. Beat in cream cheese and milk until smooth. Spread over lime layer; refrigerate until set., Dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water; stir in cranberry sauce. Cool for 10 minutes. Carefully spoon over cream cheese layer. Prepare the lemon jello by adding the powdered gelatin to one cup of boiling water and stirring to dissolve. Add marshmallows and stir until they dissolve as well, whisking if necessary. Whisk in the cream cheese and Miracle Whip, breaking up any clumps of cream cheese, until incorporated. Stir in the drained pineapple, then carefully pour over the set lime layer and return the jello to the refrigerate to set.
Once the middle layer is firm, prepare the cherry jello according to package directions. Carefully pour over the middle layer of jello and return the dish to the refrigerator to set completely. Cut into squares and serve.
