SWEET BALSAMIC STEAK MARINADE RECIPE
Steps:
- In a medium bowl, stir together balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and minced onion. If it's runny, stir in another tablespoon of brown sugar.
- Put the steak in a shallow container or zippered freezer bag and pour the marinade over it so that it covers the steak. Place the container or bag in the refrigerator overnight. If you don't have that much time to spare, allow the steak to marinate in the fridge for at least one hour.
- Before cooking, remove the steak from the bag and allow to sit on a cutting board at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat with oil.
- Add the steak to the pan and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side. The internal temperature should reach 135 degrees for medium-rare.
- Place the steak on a cutting board and allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing into thin strips and enjoying.
SWEET STEAK MARINADE
An amazing recipe by my boyfriends family for a summer steak on the barbie! Best steak I've had yet, no joke!

Steps:
- Simply mix all ingredients together in the pan you plan to marinade your steaks in. Swirl your finger in the marinade before you add your steaks to determine if you'd like to add more of anything.
- Poke your thawed steaks with a fork 5 times on each side, this will help it soak up the marinade. Then add your steaks to the sweet marinade.
- I let my steaks marinade on each side for 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours. My boyfriend let's his steaks sit on one sided over night and then the other side while he's at work the next day. So depending on your time and preference of flavour you can marinade for 4-48 hours.
- Cook you're steaks on the barbie or in the oven how you usually would. For extra flavor you can sprinkle some of your favourite steak seasoning before cooking or eat it with bbq sauce after cooked!

SWEET AND SPICY GRILLED FLANK STEAK
There are some steaks that need nothing more than a little salt and pepper to bring out their beefy goodness. Flank steak is not one of them. This bold marinade is just the sort of seasoning the brawny cut begs for: lime juice and zest add brightness, brown sugar sweetness, and jalapeño and sriracha a complex heat. Just whiz it all together in a food processor and slather it on the meat. Marinate overnight (or 20 minutes if that's all the time you have) before tossing it on the grill. Lastly, always make more flank steak that you think you want. Leftovers are the best part.

Steps:
- In a food processor, pulse together scallion, ginger, jalapeño, garlic, sugar, lime zest and juice, and sriracha. With the motor running, pour in oil until smooth.
- Season steak with salt. Place in a large bowl and pour marinade over meat. Turn to coat well with the mixture. Cover tightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- When you are ready to cook the steak, heat the grill to medium-high heat, or heat the broiler with the rack set 4 inches from the heat source. Transfer meat to the grill and cook, covered, until it reaches the desired doneness (about 5 minutes per side for medium-rare), or broil until charred and done to taste, 4 to 6 minutes per side. Let rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
